We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrey Psyche. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrey below.
Hi Andrey, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
That is a great question. Not only have I spent a lot of time thinking about it, I even became a teacher to get an inside look at the issue, and began to plant the seeds of change.
Let’s rewind a little bit. Along my path as an artist, I realized that we create our own universe. Not to get too deep into my philosophies, but I understood that the only way for the collective world to get “better” is for each individual to take responsibility for their personal world.
I tried sharing this idea with adults but after a life of ingrained expectations and limiting beliefs, I realized that this information is best shared to fertile minds.
When I got into teaching as a K-12 substitute, I got a crash course of what the education system looks like from the bottom up. When it comes to upbringing the future of our collective civilization, the main objective is skewed (at least in this country.)
One issue is that the teacher has “a lesson to teach”, and not “kids to guide through lessons.”
Too many times in my classrooms my priority was to keep the lecture moving forward, no matter the cost. What I noticed were three groups of people: Those that fall behind and need help, those that pay attention and follow the curriculum, and those that excel beyond the given material and are complacent.
When the focus is on the lesson and not the students, I am not able to serve the kids that need my help to grow. I am not able to give more attention to foster the kids that are falling behind, or advancing too quickly. I am not able to meet their needs on an individual basis. Unfortunately, some students fall through the cracks.
Even if they are doing fine academically, there is a lot of emotional and spiritual growth that is ignored at the cost of test scores.
That is why the first step to change the system is deliver an individual approach to education.
We need to allow teachers to have more one on one time to guide students through their lessons and through life. We need to present the curriculum in such a way that grasps the interest of our students, makes them involved, and invested in their own education. Ultimately, the student should feel in control of their learning journey.
If we can shift the idea that the teacher isn’t an authority figure, but rather a source of guidance and wisdom, then we flip the script on the entire way we view education.
How do we achieve this?
We start broad and we narrow in. Start with the big picture when they’re young and notice what children gravitate toward.
Tap into their passions while expanding the depth at which they can learn about that certain subject.
By the end of their journey, they have learned everything the school board deems necessary to graduate, and the kids enjoyed every second of it.
This is possible because everything in life is interrelated. That’s why when a child has an eye for visual art when they’re young, you can still incorporate its opposite, hard sciences, into their curriculum in order to produce a well-rounded individual educated in a variety of subjects. Now they know how to apply all their knowledge in a way that sets their souls on fire.
Let’s take this simple example and run through a thought exercise.
You notice a child is gravitating toward “stars.” We begin with a general outline of planets: broad and easy to understand astronomy, which captivates the imagination and creates intrigue. Once they have this exciting information, they naturally want to dive deeper. Now, we allow greater access to information that cohesively links their passion into context. We start to offer classes like physics to explain planetary motions. Chemistry and biology, etc; to explain composition of heavenly objects while simultaneously grounding the knowledge into a existance on Earth. Then, offer classes in humanities: like art, music, and philosophy, to provide symbolic knowledge to fill the gaps that can’t be answered by science alone.
Simply put, one idea fueled with data and guidance, will lead to new possibilities and new pathways.
If we include students in their scholastic journey, with creative guidance, educators can be better equipped to foster their development.
Start big, go small. Focus on one, reach them all.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
First and foremost, I am a creator. I could list every little skill, talent, and attribute I posses, and I would most likely forget half of that list. Instead, what lies beneath it all is a desire to express love, even when it seems impossible.
Because of this drive, I have grown beyond anything I could have imagined for myself. Now, I strive to put myself into any situation where I could be of service to my fellow human. This may look like bartending, event hosting, performing my music or book readings for an audience, shooting short films or other video projects, graphic design for personal or business, voiceovers, writing custom songs for special occasions, providing life guidance, and helping someone get exactly what they need to make the next step forward.
If you want to get a feel for who I am and what I stand for, I would suggest listening to few podcast interviews that I was involved with. Additionally, I have 100+ hours of audio content which brings clarity to who I am, what drives me, and how I serve humanity individually and as a professional freelancer.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
The biggest insight that non-creatives struggle to accept is how to embrace chaos. People get too caught up in trying to plan every move and tackle reality into predictable submission. They believe life is more fruitful when it couldn’t be further from the truth. Taking a leap of faith and allowing for infinite possibilities of the unknown to unfold before you, moment to moment produces outcomes that are unimaginable.
Embracing chaos allows you to embrace pure magic. When you have faith in the echoes of your heart, you make a conscious effort to take small steps moving forward, life becomes unrecognizable and unpredictable, but it makes your wildest fantasies come true.
You can’t plan your dream life. All you can do is live it, each and every day.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The greatest thing you can do to show up in your business, and in your day to day life, is to explore the fundamental principles of what makes you, YOU.
A great resource I would suggest to everyone would be the podcast “Philosophize This” It’s a very entertaining journey through history’s greatest thinkers and a taste of how different ways of expression. You can learn how to think, and like a great artist, throw them out and do what feels natural.
Another great teacher to experience, especially if you aren’t turned away by spirituality, is Ram Dass. Whether you read his books, or listen to his lectures, there are many ideas and practices that bring you closer to your true nature.
Once you align your heart with a deeper sense of belonging on this planet, everything else seems to fall into place. Relationships become simpler, your mind becomes malleable, and inspired action follows.
