We were lucky to catch up with Andrews Frimpong recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Andrews thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?

It all started in 2015 few months before my service in the military ended. I shot a short film for a Buddys film festival at his school and we took first place. From there, I bought my first camera, started taking pictures of co-workers, family and friends and gradually entered in the photography field. I took my first gig as a solo wedding photographer somewhere in 2016/2017. It was a great experience for me because I didn’t think with the little knowledge I have someone could pay me to actually photograph them.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hello everyone! My name is Andrews Frimpong. I go by the business name “Frimpeezzy Media”. Im a photographer that shoots everything from portraits, to headshots, engagement, product, wedding photography and I shoot wedding films as well. I believe every photo or video being captured should be able to tell a story and that’s when I come in. It is my job to tell your story using my camera and lens and I do that with love. It’s my job to put my client at ease assuring them they will get the best photos and videos on their big day.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

As a photographer and videographer, you have to be ready at all times. That is to say be gear ready because you may never know when you be called to take on an emergency gig.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I am still in the process and gradually building up my social presence. I believe in word of mouth which is one of the greatest way I have used to build up my social media platform. Friends and family have played a big part because they always spread the word across.
