We were lucky to catch up with Andrew Ramirez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Andrew, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
First time we earned a decent payout was the first time we left El Paso to play out of town. That was back in 2016/2017, things are a little different in El Paso now.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a math rock, indie, experimental, band from El Paso TX. We usually use math rock as a basis for our writing and infuse whatever genre we are collectively into at the time of writing. More recently it’s been a lot of Shoegaze.
We began writing and playing shows in El Paso around 2016 as a 4 piece band. We started branching out as time went on playing in different cities and states. Now we consist of three members, Eli (guitar), Andrew (bass), Jordan (drums). We feel more comfortable with this dynamic, it’s a lot easier to make decisions and write new material. This year we’ll be doing a small tour in Japan.
We have music available on all platforms and aim to release more, either at the end of this year or early next year.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
One thing we love about playing live music is seeing people connect with what we put out there. We put a lot of ourselves into our music and seeing people resonate with that means so much.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
For us as a band, traveling and playing live music really helped us grow our online presence. Talking with people who are attending the show or other artists helped us spread out.
