Alright, Andrew thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
My answer to this question changes every couple of years. The digital marketing industry is always changing at a rapid pace; every couple of years corporate America is forced to retool their go-to-market strategies on how to sell and provide marketing services to customers. I think right now what they get wrong is that in today’s world, many companies don’t need large marketing teams to carry out national or even international marketing initiatives. Many of the assignments that required large teams can now be solved by a small group of well-rounded marketers and automation/machine learning. I also think for too long many of the large corporations looked at PPC, SEO, Content etc. as separate pieces to their marketing puzzle. However, they are in most cases interdependent and require a cohesive strategy for a business to be successfully scaled in today’s marketplace. Many companies are still approaching these tactics as separate issues without consideration of the full picture and how they impact one another.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Andrew Mimault. I have held a lot of titles and roles including serial entrepreneur, digital marketing consultant, business strategist, public speaker, and artist. I prefer to keep it simple by saying I create and grow businesses.
I got into entrepreneurship at a young age through hip-hop music and fashion. In my late teens, I took an interest in digital media and marketing as it was a new and growing industry at the time. I studied relentlessly and taught myself how to build websites, write blogs and ad copy, and design graphics. As I honed my skills in digital marketing during college, it became apparent that I had a knack for coming up creative ideas and solving tough business problems. I began doing freelance digital marketing work and consultation for a few years before being offered my first corporate marketing position after college. I then spent 6 years leading marketing and advertising initiatives for various companies, advertising agencies, and innovation firms; working with a variety of business models from startups to Fortune 500 brands.
In 2020 I founded Mantic Media Group and today me and my team help medium and large-scale businesses solve their most difficult marketing problems and drive scalable growth. We specialize in optimizing paid search engine and social advertising campaigns, creating attention grabbing content, designing modern websites, and providing strategic business consulting services.
The thing that sets Mantic apart from other growth marketing firms is our commitment to providing solutions and not services. We don’t simply provide clients with a marketing service, we provide solutions that are trackable, measurable, and scalable. As a result, we provide accountability and transparency on all fronts, which helps to facilitate great client-partner relationships.
For me personally, I am not just proud of the work we do to help our clients grow their businesses, I am most proud of how our work impacts the people within those businesses. To see business owners and their employees’ level up, take on new positions, and grow into their careers is incredibly rewarding.
Most businesses encounter the same problems. However, creating successful marketing campaigns is not a “one-size-fits” activity and is highly dependent on a variety of factors. That is why we take a collaborative approach to growing our client’s businesses by acting as a direct extension of their team. We learn the finer details within a given industry and do thorough research before giving marketing recommendations or taking a course of action.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think there is only one thing that breaks through the noise of today’s crowed marketplace: delivering consistent, quality work. I think my commitment to delivering quality work that moves business forward day after day is what helped build my reputation and it continues to do so. There is a lot of talk, banter, and noise in the digital marketing space; lots of “selling the sizzle” if you will. I am not concerned with any of it. I am interested in producing results that drive revenue and grow business.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I would like to start out by saying that pivoting is an essential skill to learn in life and business. If you can master the pivot, you can master your life and make things much easier on yourself.
When I first founded Mantic, my primary goal was to acquire clients in the fashion or e-commerce verticals. My reasoning for this was because they were business models that I had extensive experience in, and I enjoyed working with those kinds of companies.
However, within a few months of opening Mantic Media Group, almost all the clients that were coming to us for marketing help were in the home services vertical (lawn care, A/C repair, cleaning, roofing, etc.).
As we onboarded more and more home services clientele, we continued to see success and their business as well as ours continued to grow.
After about two months of this trend, I decided to stop chasing after fashion and e-commerce clients and pivot our focus to creating the best marketing campaigns we could for our home services clients.
This turned out to be a great decision as it opened the door for us to work with an entire new industry that we now specialize in.
