We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrew Lorenti. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrew below.
Hi Andrew, thanks for joining us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry? Any stories or anecdotes that illustrate why this matters?
I believe that Corporate America in real estate is not good for anyone. Big real estate companies usually only care about the incoming cash flow via buying and selling houses. They usually instruct or have incentives for realtors to sell a certain amount so that they can get bonus or perks. This creates a cycle where realtors are only looking for the sales and not worrying about the customer. Realtors should be about helping the customer find and achieve their aspirations when it comes to buying or selling a home. There are multiple national and state government programs that can help an individual buy a home that I find most realtors don’t want to talk about either because they don’t know about it, or are so focused on the sale that they don’t want to use them since they require some time and effort.
Andrew, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a 3rd generation realtor. My grandmother and mother are/were realtors and I figured that someone in my family had to follow in their footsteps! Learning from my mom has been a wonderful experience (obviously) and since she is focused on her customers rather than numbers it has trickled down to me as well. We like to say we aren’t trying to sell houses but help people find them. I’m very proud of the effort my mother and I put into our clients. We do our best to help them every step of the way
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I consider clients to be life long. I sent out a monthly newsletters to my clients illustrating what the market in their area looks like as well as nationally. I also make sure to reach out during any big event such as birthdays or anniversaries. I make sure to treat all my clients equally and as I would expect to be treated if I was a client myself. I am always available to them and if I do not know the answer will make sure to find out for them in a timely manner.
Any advice for managing a team?
When it comes to managing a team I believe that you need to first evaluate everyone’s personalities. Everyone is different and as such need to be handled individually. You can have team goals and meetings of course but I believe you need to drill down to the individual when looking to improve upon something. As far as morale goes. It all starts at the top; the leader of a team must show the type of morale they are hoping for.
