Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrew Lomax. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Andrew, thanks for joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
Yes
Andrew, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The one thing I want the world to know about me is that I am a product of the God-given dreams I chase and live out daily. As a professional barber and author, my mission is to bring out the best version of people—both through my services and through words of encouragement.
I entered the barbering industry after realizing my passion for helping people look and feel their best, whether they’re facing life’s toughest challenges or celebrating its greatest joys. There’s something transformative about a clean cut—it provides a fresh perspective, a sense of empowerment, and a renewed confidence to take on the world.
Through my brand, ELOH (Everyday Love Over Hate), I’ve built a community rooted in support and encouragement for dream chasers of all backgrounds. What began with barbering has grown into a lifestyle and mantra, reminding us that we all have the chance to be part of something bigger than ourselves. ELOH is about making our communities better places to live, work, play, and create.
This belief in the power of dreams and transformation is at the heart of my first book, How To Dream. In it, I guide readers of all ages through the process of overcoming the barriers that hold them back so they can live the lives they’ve always imagined. Much like the transformative power of a fresh haircut, the book empowers readers to see themselves in a new light and take bold steps toward their goals.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
To be successful in this industry, you must understand and properly manage the power you hold. As a barber, you have the unique ability to uplift others—not only through your services but also through meaningful conversations and relationships. You also possess the power to transform your own life and positively impact the lives of those around you.
Networking is one of the most powerful tools for success in this industry. You can’t be afraid to connect with others and build genuine relationships. However, success isn’t just about the services you provide—it’s about how you treat people and their time. Respect and professionalism leave a lasting impression that can elevate your business far beyond your skills alone.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I would choose the same profession and path a hundred times over—all the same challenges, experiences, and victories. It’s an honor and a privilege I never take for granted when someone chooses my services for the biggest day of their life or trusts me to help restore their self-confidence.
When I see pictures from my clients’ graduations, weddings, birthday celebrations, school pictures, and more, I’m reminded that what I do carries a deeper impact on the world than words can fully express.
