We were lucky to catch up with Andrew DeBarbieris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Andrew thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you have any advice regarding quality control and maintaining quality as your brand grows?
Maintaining a high level of customer service has always been one of the things we focus on at Spark Lighting. We always have a schedule of jobs that are at various stages of completion. One of the best ways to maintain great service is to look at each job on a regular basis and see what stage it’s at. We communicate frequently with our customers and suppliers to make sure the projects are moving along in a timely manner.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started in the lighting industry about ten years ago. I realized there was going to be a major shift in the lighting industry when LEDs were first coming onto the market. Through a lot of learning and failures, we’ve been able to grow our business each year. We focus on turnkey LED lighting projects for commercial, industrial, government, and educational accounts.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
My first real job out of college was in security and IT sales. I was doing this job while growing my own company. I made sure my own company was on solid ground before I ever left my full time job.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Our best source of new clients is referrals and industry involvement. Once we complete a project successfully for one client, they remember and tell their industry friends.
