Andrew, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My business story started 3 years ago. The idea started with me wondering what I was gonna do after serving in Active Duty. I had been is a lil over 15 years at the time. The only thing that really stuck out to me was I wanted to invest in myself and follow my passion if metalwork. I’ve always had an ability to visually see projects come together in my mind with no need for drawings. That skill served me well being a machinist and welder in the United States Air Force. Throughout my years serving people always said to me why are you in the USAF when you have this types of skills. Early on it never really was something I thought I could do for myself and build a business from it. So when it came time to start thinking about the future, I decided to bet on the skills I’ve built. I started acquiring equipment and doing it as a side hustle to make money to buy more equipment. So far every year I’ve gotten busier and busier with people wanting my work. I think my skills has really shined in the metalart realm. I can take simple ideas from my customers and turn them into unique pieces. I mostly do metalart now not only because that’s what’s requested the most but cause it holds a special place to me. You see in the military we give members gifts when they move locations or retire. Through my years I’ve seen some get very nice gifts, but I’ve also seen many be lost and forgotten about. So when it came time I knew I had the skills to celebrate and remember the time and effort people gave in their service. So I pride myself in making some of the most unique gifts out there. I really enjoy making them one off and truly modeled after the person receiving the gift. I think through my skills and passion for metalwork and wanting to ensure no one is forgotten that it allows me to channel the uniqueness. I think it can be said that I have a very specific way and look to my projects.m and it really highlights my effort when people can recognize the projects I do from the crowd. Overall, I’ve simply decided to follow my passion and love of metalwork into building something great for my family and myself that we can be proud of. Being able to channel the customers ideas with my skill is what I am most excited about when I build these works of art. The future is bright and can’t wait to really be able to devote all my efforts after retiring from active duty and see where the business will go
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started the idea of my business 3 years ago. I’m and active duty senior master sergeant currently and have been in aircraft fabrication and repair for 18 1/2 years. My core career field has been a machinist and welder. I offer metalart, powdercoating, and general fabrication services. I create beautiful works of art that can be proudly displayed and they always garner the attention from the room. We are constantly expanding and working and new, better, and faster ways to create our products. I have a few more years on active duty and then the sky is the limits for us
How’d you meet your business partner?
My business cofounder, is my beautiful wife. She’s really the foundation for being here today. She recognized my passion for metalwork and the skills I have for doing it. She’s really pushed me to grow and build this for our future with the hope that one day it can be a family business. Until then she continues to push me to become better each and everyday and the business benefits from that
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
