Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrew Balogh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Andrew thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
On July 29th, 2024 I was inducted into The United Nations to serve as a Council Member for the Council of Global Change. As a Council Member I serve under the leadership of Ambassador David Daxsen and alongside Susan Rockefeller, Anna Rothschild, Charlie Walk, Marla Maples, and other Council Members. The Council focuses on various aspects, including international policy making, improving access to health, and addressing global issues. My area of focus is tailored towards strengthening education for impoverished children across the globe. Through utilizing my relationships with technology companies, the music industry and entertainment industry at large, we have been able to provide significant infrastructure improvements to a vast amount of children across the globe.

Andrew, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My first opportunities in the music industry consisted of performing as a saxophonist and keyboardist for recording artists Lady Gaga, Macy Gray, Sublime with Rome, Mary J Blige and others. To date, I have had the privilege of performing in 37 countries and 47 of the 50 states in America. In 2015, I began focusing more on music production and have produced records for Ariana Grande, Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles, Sabrina Carpenter, and Coldplay, most notably.
Something that I take extreme passion in is making sure that every artist who I am privileged enough to write with, has the opportunity to lead the songwriting process. As a producer I am expected to navigate multiple aspects of the songwriting and instrumental production process however I am always hyper-vigilant in making sure that the artist included in the critical decision making every step of the way.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
There are many rewarding aspects of being an artist. Seeing a vision or thought blossom into a completed song and hearing it on the radio is incredibly fulfilling. Attending the GRAMMY Awards and seeing an artist that you’ve worked closely with walk up on stage to accept their award and hearing them thank you by first and last name on global television is an incredible feeling.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There have been a few points in my career where I have had to pivot but none as significant as during the COVID-19 Pandemic. That entire situation was incredibly difficult to handle and navigate through (as it was for many entrepreneurs and business owners). It tested my resilience, patience, acceptance, forgiveness and compassion and forced me to have to be incredibly strategic in how I went about monetizing my skillset. During the pandemic, I started a second business, a digital marketing agency, where I leveraged my contracts and relationships at DSP’s (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music), Radio, Instagram and TikTok to provide marketing services for recording artists, social media influencers and content creators, and brands.
