Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrés Moskona. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrés, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
There was a defining moment in my professional journey that changed everything: the moment I realized that The AH OK Project had to be more than just an idea. It started as a way to capture the resilience and authenticity I was discovering in myself, a means to share that with others. I threw myself into it with excitement, eager to spread the message far and wide, streamlining every process to make it happen as quickly as possible.
But as I moved forward, there came a point where I realized that speed wasn’t enough. I wanted this project to have deeper meaning, to truly connect with people in a way that mattered. That moment of clarity led me to step back and reconsider everything. I began putting more thought and intention into the designs, the materials, and the overall experience. It wasn’t just about the message anymore; it was about how the message was delivered, how it resonated, and how it felt in people’s hands.
That decision to slow down and be intentional changed the trajectory of the project. It grew beyond apparel into something much bigger; a space for conversations about mental health, connection, and vulnerability. Events became an integral part of The AH OK Project, giving people real opportunities to come together, support one another, and feel seen.
The lesson I learned from this defining moment was the importance of aligning actions with purpose. It’s easy to get caught up in wanting to do everything quickly, but when you focus on doing things meaningfully, that’s when true impact happens. Now, The AH OK Project is more than a brand; it’s a movement. And that shift in perspective has made all the difference.
Andrés, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We’re two brothers, Andres and Elias, and our initiative is called The AH OK Project. It is a non-profit dedicated to promoting mental health through community-focused events and purpose-driven clothing. The project is the result of a passion for fostering connection and well-being, inspired by our personal journeys with mental health and the realization that many people crave spaces to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Through our events, we create opportunities for individuals to connect, express themselves, and find a sense of belonging, addressing the isolation and mental health challenges so many face today. Our clothing line serves as a conversation starter and a wearable reminder of the importance of showing up for yourself and connecting with your feelings.
The thing we’re most proud of is seeing how our initiatives spark genuine connection and inspire others to prioritize themselves and accept that sometimes it’s ok to not be ok. We’re also proud of the feedback we’ve gotten from event participants, who share how they have been deeply touched by those moments of feeling deeply seen by others in our events.
For potential clients or partners, we want you to know that The AH OK Project isn’t just about products or events—it’s about creating a ripple effect of care, understanding, and growth in our communities.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the key lessons I had to unlearn was that I didn’t have to do everything by myself just because I started the business. I quickly realized that leaning on others and building strong connections was essential for growth. Partnering with my brother, someone who shares my values and vision, was a pivotal moment. It made the journey easier and brought a genuine energy to everything we do. Together, we’ve been able to create something that truly resonates with people, and The AH OK Project has become a place where our community feels connected and supported. It’s this collective effort that has brought us to where we are today, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.
How’d you meet your business partner?
We’re brothers, but for a long time, we weren’t very close. Growing up, we didn’t really know how to connect deeply with each other. After Elias went to college and eventually moved abroad, we spent over a decade mostly apart; just the occasional phone call or holiday visit. It felt like we knew each other, but not really.
Things started to change as we each embarked on our own personal journeys. We both worked on understanding ourselves and developing the tools to break through old patterns in how we communicated and related to one another. It wasn’t easy. There were tears, long walks with difficult conversations, and a lot of effort to rebuild trust and create a stronger bond.
Eventually, Elias made the decision to move to the city where Andres was living, which was a turning point for us. Being in the same place allowed us to show up for each other more consistently and intentionally. Over time, we grew into each other’s support systems, and that foundation is what made The AH OK Project possible. This collaboration isn’t just about the work we do; it’s a reflection of the journey we’ve been on to truly know and support one another as brothers.
