We were lucky to catch up with Andrés Galván recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Andrés thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
I was hired by a client who wanted one of her bedrooms to be converted into a Massage Room for her clients. The day I walked through the space, I sat and spoke to her about what she would love this room to feel and look like. She spent quite sometime describing the mood and vibe. She started crying and gave me a hug. She said she never thought the day would come when she could afford to transform her room. At that very second I knew I had to do everything in my power to design the best Massage Room ever. Worked on the project a few weeks and the reveal was emotional for both of us. She is now working out of her home and still messages me to say “thank you.”
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal has always been to open an Art Gallery. This space will offer art classes to kids and other fun creative classes like poetry writing etc. I would love to teach kids the fundamentals of art and how important it is to express yourself. This has been a goal of mine for a long time. I grew up in a very low income household and art supplies was never something we were able to afford. Slowly as I grew older I was able to buy myself paints, canvases, markers etc. That’s where it began for me.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a designer is the reveal at the end of every project. Seeing the joy I am able to bring to my clients and knowing I did my job. I love the relationships that are established with my clients. Some of my clients have become almost like family and that says a lot.
