We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andreea Modrea a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Andreea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Long before I started my career as a health and wellness coach, my life was very chaotic, stressful, and unhealthy overall. I had a severe health crisis that — when finally diagnosed — turned out that I needed surgery. During the surgery I had an NDE. I was surrounded by a warm and loving bright white light. There were no direct messages that I recall. But afterwards, I kept getting little nudges to research holistic health, and I keep finding the right practitioners to support my own health. Bit by bit, that led to a desire to help others take care of their health before they ever got to a health crisis like the one I experienced.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As I mentioned in my previous response, my passion for holistic health and wellness was sparked after I experienced my own health crisis, and was given a second chance by God / the Universe. I turned my health and my life around, spent hours researching daily, and felt a strong calling to help others.
I’m a holistic nutrition and gut health coach. I work with busy moms and mompreneurs to help them resolve their gut health issues and by extension improve their overall health, and their family’s health. My approach incorporates all four pillars of holistic health: nutrition, hydration, physical activity and mindset/mindfulness.
What I love most about my work is not only teaching others how their bodies are divinely created to function perfectly and to heal naturally, but also when my clients come to me with outside-the-box questions and we do a deep dive together on that topic. I love learning and growing right along with my clients.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I would absolutely choose to become a holistic health professional again—without hesitation. In fact, the only thing I would change is when I pursued this path. I explored holistic nutrition many years ago, but the timing and circumstances just weren’t right back then. Looking back, I wish I had trusted my instincts sooner and continued searching for a way to make it work. This profession aligns so deeply with my values and strengths that, given the chance to start over, I would begin the journey much earlier and with even greater determination.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’ve never told this story publicly before, but when I was about to graduate from high school, my plan was to go to art school out of town to study fashion design. This had been my biggest passion since I was about 11 or 12, and filled dozens of notebooks with my sketches over the years. But, just before it was time to go, my parents sat me down one night and told me unequivocally that I was going to go to university and get a degree. That night, I cried and cried, but ultimately I chose the safety of family over spreading my wings on my own.
My life took a long and circuitous path to where I am today, certainly with lots of varied experiences. But, had I chosen to go off on my own — even if I didn’t succeed in fashion design or even if I didn’t end up where I am today — I would have learned at a young age that it’s okay to take a leap of faith because the Universe always has your back.
