We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Ward recently and have shared our conversation below.

Andrea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.

A few years ago I got into the art of acting and writing that I grew a define passion for the art I started writing my very own screenplays. I began to to direct and produce my own film projects from short films to feature films to becoming award winning projects in different countries. First organize your ideas into screenplays or concepts through screenplay software, then copyright the intellectual property. Also gather a production team or crew if you are not experienced in certain areas or fields. Next hire or cast for actors for each role and scout for locations. It is very important to cast the proper talent along with film permits with scheduling out filming dates. Editing and promotion of the film as well as going through film festivals. One day I had an idea of writing out a martial art film that later turned into a short film, took 3 days to film and a few days of editing which has lead my film “Reborn Redemption” as award winning. However during process became easy because I worked with a team I trusted and felt comfortable with & just as passionate about film.

Andrea ward is a entrepreneur on many different levels, such as Award Winning Film Director, Producer, Writer, Actress, Stunt Woman & Activist against Domestic violence Celebrity Fashion Stylist, Great Niece of Billie Holiday (Lady Day), Actress, Book Author & Vocalist, Creator of Redemption Images. She attended one of the best prestigious School in medicine while receiving recognition from the Mayor of Baltimore. After taking her chance on her hidden love for fashion, she decided to launch a cut & sew brand without formal training. Which lead her passion has taken her Center Stage, as a featured designer for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week such as NYFW , LAFW, Milan Fashion Week along with publication for Essence Magazine, Sheen Magazine, Ellements Magazine, Style Cruz Magazine, USA Weekly, La Weekly, Madison Square Bill Boards, Height Magazine, Michael jai White, UN Women, Fashion Week online, NAACP Image Awards, Daytime Emmy, Reddit, Marvel’s Black Panther, U.S Weekly Magazine, Ivan Button Style House. Andrea’s career began in the Fashion industry by storm Now taking over the Film industry with new Debut of her Upcoming Award-Winning Feature Film “Reborn Redemption” an Action pack super hero movie about the struggles that are currently impacting the surrounding communities of Los Angeles California. While currently being Nominated for 15 Awards and 8 Wins for her Recent Short film “Deception Street” inspired by true events. Andrea has invested her time and energy in telling untold and authentic stories inspired by her lifetime experiences which has also inspired her to launch her program “LIFE AFTER THE STORM’ this fall For families affected by domestic violence to create a safe learning environment to, inspire, teach, mentor as well as Turning their pain into power through the art of Writing, Music & Film.

What sets me apart from other is the passion I have to make a difference in the world telling true untold stories while spreading awareness on social issues.

I am most proud of the films I’ve created, networks credits I’ve earned through my hard work from Netflix, bet, vanity teen, essence and many more at such a young age before the age of 30.

Several years ago I was once a victim of domestic violence with little to nothing & one day I decided to take a leap of faith to reclaim of life with a fresh start. That was the moment my life changed forever, within less than 5 years I was traveling the world, showcasing at international fashion weeks, being on national tv and in movies to becoming an award winning film director. During this journey I finished my degree in school, lost over 150lbs, relocated and a new career with rediscovering myself into the woman I am today that help others that suffer from domestic violence

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn to not put my trust in people. After years of healing I learned it’s okay to trust others especially coming from a background of domestic abuse.
