We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Violette recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Andrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
First, let me assert that I have the most remarkable parents; feel free to challenge me. My parents have consistently fostered an environment where my brothers and I are encouraged to pursue what brings us joy. During my childhood, my dad was always the one to inject laughter and fun into our lives. Whenever we faced tough decisions, he’d ask us whether it brought us happiness or if we found joy in it. This simple yet profound approach has stuck with me and continues influencing my daily choices.
On the other hand, my mom played a pivotal role in shaping my perspective by emphasizing the importance of expressing our feelings and embracing our true selves. She never pressured me that I had to go to college but instead instilled a sense of curiosity and a drive to seek answers. From my dad, I inherited a knack for fixing things, while my mom showed me a passion for helping others. While I could list the countless things my parents got right, above all else, they bestowed upon me the greatest gift of all: love. It’s a love that is unconditional, never hidden, and always felt.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Andrea Violette, and my journey into the healthcare industry started with a deep-rooted passion for helping others live healthier, happier lives. After completing my undergraduate degree, I pursued a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, driven by a desire to provide hands-on care and holistic healing to my patients because I was once a patient of chiropractic care after an automobile accident.
As a chiropractor, I focus on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. I utilize manual adjustments and other noninvasive techniques to restore proper alignment and function to the body. My approach is rooted in the belief that the body can heal itself when given the right support and environment.
In addition to chiropractic care, I’ve expanded my expertise by becoming certified as an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP). This certification reflects my commitment to understanding and addressing the underlying causes of illness or dysfunction rather than simply treating symptoms. Through functional medicine, I take a comprehensive and personalized approach to patient care, considering factors such as nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, and environmental influences.
In my practice, I offer a range of services to optimize health and wellness, including chiropractic adjustments, functional medicine consultations, nutritional counseling, and lifestyle coaching. I work closely with my patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
What sets me apart from others in my field is my holistic approach to healthcare and my dedication to empowering my patients to take an active role in their own healing journey. I believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship with each individual, guiding them toward better health through education, empowerment, and compassionate care. I usually give my patients “homework” because I believe in working together to build better health.
I’m most proud of the positive impact I’ve made in the lives of my patients, helping them overcome pain, improve their quality of life, and achieve their health goals. Whether it’s relieving chronic pain, optimizing nutrition, or enhancing overall wellness, seeing my patients thrive is incredibly rewarding.
I want potential clients and followers to know that my practice is founded on principles of integrity, compassion, and excellence. I strive to provide the highest level of care and support to each individual who walks through my door, and I’m committed to helping them achieve lasting health and vitality. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, looking to optimize your health, or simply want to feel your best, I’m here to support you every step.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I love to read, and I listen to podcasts or audiobooks when I am not reading. Here are some of my favorite books
As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
Four Agreements by Peter Coyote
Inward by Yung Pueblo
Atomic Habits by James Clear
Breath by James Nestor
I also love Joe Rogan podcast and Quote of the day show with Sean Croxton
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
In addition to training and knowledge, one of the most helpful factors for succeeding in my field is consistency in showing up. Consistently showing up means being fully present and engaged, whether it’s patient appointments, networking events, or continuing education opportunities.
Consistency builds trust and credibility with patients and colleagues alike. When I consistently show up and deliver high-quality care or service, it reinforces my reputation as a dependable professional. It also demonstrates my commitment to my health and to the health of those I serve.
