We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrea Taylor . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrea below.
Andrea , appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Helping women with fitness, wellness and mindfulness has always been my professional focus. I started my wellness & fitness journey with a certification in Primary Group Exercise in 2005, leading a student fitness program at Southern Utah University for 8 years then transitioned into corporate fitness and personal training for companies like Adobe and EBay. For more than 15 years my focus was on high intensity training and being active. At the time, “achievements”, “accolades” and “success” were synonymous. I didn’t have time to sit still if I wanted to thrive.
For 7 years I was an industry leader in the corporate space, leading a one-of-a-kind, multi-million dollar international program supporting women that was featured in the Wallstreet Journal. I was interviewed by a PGA Tour representative and gained interest and attention from major corporations for the way I was helping women find connection, community and success in their relationships!
After several sudden and severe health issues, my career and focus slowed down drastically. During my healing and recovery I experienced first hand how impactful mindset, intention and wellness was. My company was born out of all the experiences that have shaped my personal and professional life. I want to help women heal, connect and thrive. That is what 108 is all about.
Andrea , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Utah native who’s lived in 10 different states across the county. I am a mother of three talented, kind and very cool kids. I’m married to my best friend and we’ve been together almost 23 years! Together, we’ve made Utah our home. I love sunshine, water, baked goods, flowers, writing, poetry and anything that keeps my body moving.
I’m an artist at heart and being creative is my passion. Whether I’m creating meals, art, conversation, friendships, experiences or growing my business… I love the act of putting something meaningful into the world.
My business is about more than consumerism and wellness products. It’s about personal and collective growth, evolving, and understanding our divine wisdom. I’m honored to be part of creating and collaborating with 108’s community— individuals who are passionate about exploring knowledge and light. Truth seekers who want to connect and grow.
I’m so proud of 108 and the way it’s changing lives for the better! The way it supports people in their own healing journey. I’m proud of 108s diversity in its unique products, meaningful practices, comprehensive courses and in-person community events as well as how educational and accessible it is.
I have dozens of easily accessible, digital guided meditations that lead listeners to deeper understanding, insights and connections. My virtual courses are available for anyone interested in diving deeper into the world of sound healing techniques. And 108’s beautiful and intentionally curated Guided Box products are available while supplies last.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My personal health experiences make me stand apart from other facilitators and business owners in the wellness space. The things I share have literally transformed my life for the better. The work I do comes from my heart with a deep conviction and passion for healing, wellness and mindfulness.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I mentioned earlier how I equated success with achievements. At that time, I was on a path of burn-out and one day, my body came to a screaming halt.
After surviving four strokes at just 34 years old, with no explanation from my medical teams, my entire world changed. I didn’t recognize my life anymore. And honestly, there was a period of time I didn’t want this new version of life.
My recovery was long, isolating, frustrating and incredibly painful. I experienced anxiety and depression like never before. I was scared and felt betrayed by my body. I had been so active and healthy… How did someone like me have FOUR strokes?
Western medicine had no answers so I started looking at holistic remedies, alternative healing, and eastern modalities. I tried everything and was determined to thrive again.
Over time, I realized my body didn’t betray me. It saved my life. I was still alive! A walking miracle!
And my strokes would end up being one of my greatest gifts, and become a super power for compassion and empathy.
I found extraordinary healing for my traumatic brain injury through energy work, eastern healing modalities and sound therapy.
My life experiences have given me great insight, empathy, clarity on my spiritual gifts and a passion for helping others find wellness, balance, and joy from within.
I let go of the notion that a healthy life had to look like it once did for me, —high intensity and a quick pace.
I found balance and stillness. I found the joy of intentional living. I found myself… in ways I never imagined. I found healing, growth and peace.
And I wanted to share this healing with others, especially women!!
I started teaching yoga and mindfulness classes and that grew into facilitating workshops, hosting retreats, and providing sound healing sessions for groups and individuals.
I started a small product line in 2020 to support my clients in sound healing sessions and called my brand 108 —a number said to represent spiritual completion.
That product line grew into a wellness company with a business partner in the end of 2022. We sold monthly subscription boxes that provided tools for healing and an introduction to a variety of healing practices along with products that supported the experience.
We poured our hearts into the products, the monthly subscription boxes, and continued offering events, trainings and classes.
In early 2024 we decided to move away from the subscription service and stoppe offering new products, although existing 108 products are still available while supplies last. With the change of letting go of the subscription service, my former business partner decided to pursue other projects.
108 is thriving today and I am passionate about creating experiences for women to learn, grow, heal and find that same balance, stillness and peace that I found. My company’s biggest focus in 2024 is offering certification trainings in Sound Healing, helping educate others so they can become facilitators and practitioners too!
I am grateful and honored to have a digital certification course, as well as in-person training options for The Art of Sound Healing, 108’s Certification Course. I’m able to provide comprehensive training and education for anyone, anywhere!
I absolutely adore all the individuals I’ve worked with thus far. And I am looking forward to meeting many more amazing people!
