We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Swanner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of my consulting business is empowering passionate women with heart-led missions to business brilliance. And for me, supporting women who have embraced their passions and ambitions is not just a mission; it’s a deeply personal and meaningful journey.
Not too long ago, societal norms dictated that women were primarily expected to serve their households, whether it be their fathers or their husbands, with limited opportunities for personal and professional growth. However, times have changed, and I am passionate about ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to pursue her dreams and make her mark in the world.
I believe deeply in developing authentic relationships with my clients. So, my approach is centered around supporting women whose missions better, empower, and uplift those they serve. This allows me to truly embrace their visions and goals as my own. When I book a new client, I welcome them into what I call my “client family” because I am here to provide support and guidance to her through every step of her business journey. I love being a part of the transformative journey that women embark on as they carve out their space in the world within their own ambitions, thoughts, and dreams. Watching them develop and grow through their entrepreneurial journeys brings me immense joy and fulfillment.
Whether a woman chooses to build a home-based business to care for her family while pursuing her passions or she is a corporate powerhouse carving her own path in the business world, I am committed to providing the support and resources necessary for her success. Every woman deserves the chance to shine, to make her mark, and to create a life she loves.
My passion is fueled by the belief that empowered women can change the world, one business at a time. By giving them the tools and guidance to turn their passions into profitable ventures, I’m helping to pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.

Andrea, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I hail from a small town in West Texas where I was raised on a cattle ranch. I come from a hometown where community bonds are strong and neighbors ask how your mom and dad are doing when they run into you at the grocery store.
Leaving things better than I found them was instilled in me early on. Growing up, gratitude for life’s blessings overshadowed aspirations for grandeur, and humility was valued. As I entered college and ventured into the world, my ambitions shifted towards success, driven by a desire to secure financial stability swiftly. I set my sights on the corporate world.
However, despite my success in the corporate world, I began to feel immense stress and unhappiness. Outwardly as a mother with a growing family and a wife, the surface was smooth but I continued to spiral down a path of bitterness, depression, and unhappiness. I didn’t have any sense of fulfillment. I didn’t have any sense of purpose or feel like I was in a space that truly mattered.
After experiencing numerous health setbacks, including two strokes, I decided to refocus and reassess my life’s purpose. This sparked a journey of self-discovery where I delved into learning, volunteering, and embracing my passions. I immersed myself in activities that nourished my body, mind, and spirit. This eventually compelled me to draw from my corporate experience, embrace the gifts I possessed as an employee, and transition into entrepreneurship to serve women who are on the same journey of discovering their depths of fulfillment and achievement outside of traditional workspaces.
My journey has led me to founding a business aimed at empowering women on their own quests for fulfillment in the entrepreneurial space. Today I proudly serve women with heart-led missions in writing, coaching, mentoring, and speaking roles. My mission is to uplift and serve women as they strive to make a meaningful impact on the world, and I am committed to helping them achieve their goals and dreams by empowering them to business brilliance.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey focused on authenticity and building genuine relationships. Instead of solely aiming for a large number of followers, my priority has always been to connect with individuals who resonate with my content and values.
I’ve found that authenticity is key in attracting and retaining followers. By sharing the ups and downs of both my personal and entrepreneurial journey, I’ve been able to build trust and rapport with my audience. Many of my posts are reflections or notes of encouragement that I write for myself, but I’ve found that they often resonate with others who may be going through similar experiences.
In terms of advice for those starting to build their social media presence, I would emphasize the importance of authenticity and engagement. Take the time to connect with your followers on a personal level, respond to comments and messages, and actively seek out conversations within your niche community. Building relationships takes time, but the connections you make will be far more valuable than simply chasing numbers.
Additionally, focus on creating content that is both meaningful and relatable to your audience. Share your story, insights, and expertise in a genuine and authentic way. Consistency is also key, so make sure to regularly post content that aligns with your brand and resonates with your audience.
Overall, building a social media presence is about more than just numbers – it’s about building meaningful connections and fostering a community that supports and uplifts each other.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The entrepreneurial journey is a dance of constant pivots, and I’ve certainly experienced my fair share of these shifts along the way. One notable example occurred when I initially launched a product or service that I was convinced would revolutionize my business, only to realize that it wasn’t resonating with my target audience as expected.
In moments like these, being flexible and open to growth is crucial. It’s about recognizing when something isn’t working and being willing to pivot in a new direction. This might mean revising your approach, refining your product or service offerings, or even shifting your entire business model.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is the importance of pivoting with purpose. This means being proactive about assessing market feedback, understanding customer needs, and adapting accordingly. Pivoting isn’t about abandoning your vision – it’s about refining and realigning your objectives and priorities to better serve your audience and achieve your goals.
Navigating these pivots also requires a degree of risk aversion. It’s about being willing to take calculated risks, but also knowing when to cut your losses and pivot in a new direction. This ability to pivot effectively can be a game-changer for entrepreneurs, allowing them to stay agile and responsive in an ever-changing business landscape.
Ultimately, successful entrepreneurship is about embracing the dance of constant pivots with grace and resilience. By remaining flexible, open to growth, and willing to pivot when necessary, entrepreneurs can navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and ultimately build thriving businesses.
