We recently connected with Andrea Ridley and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My business was created based on personal healing when I encountered going through a rough chapter in my life. Abhinaya is a wellness & lifestyle brand was birthed so that others could heal through their own personal journeys too.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Abhinaya is a sanskrit word for “leading an audience toward.” Abhinaya was launched shortly after taking a solo journey to Bali in the middle of my divorce. The healing and love that I personally felt for the week that I was there, changed my entire outlook on life. I knew immediately that I had a passion for wanting to lead a group back to Bali while giving others the chance to also heal wherever they may find themselves in their own life. Through wellness, spirituality and lifestyle, retreat attendees can expect for any retreat experience through Abhinaya to be curated for them in a way where they don’t have to make any decisions along the way. The entire retreat itinerary is set for all attendees with a perfect balance between activity and down time. Our retreats are also a very much make it your own type of experience. You can rest as much as needed, but you can also rely on a myriad of events around movement, amazing cuisine, arts, spirituality, local culture and relaxation. My favorite part of leading these experience is mindful planning while watching attendees leave in awe of themselves by the end of a retreat.

Can you talk to us about your experience with selling businesses?
Yes. I have sold my previous business, and the biggest lesson in doing so was to return back to owner, operator mode. Knowing all of the ins and outs of your business and operating it on a daily basis while not relying on outsourcing is vitally important.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building a presence through social media has many facets. Growing a business from the ground up in a pure and purposeful way (while living your dream doing so) is necessary.Organically growing your audience in a grassroots way with high quality content will grab the eye of your followers, but being able to be a storyteller beyond the images is where people can connect and identity with you and your brand.
