Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrea Luna Rodriguez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrea, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
The biggest risk we took was opening our very own business during the peak of the pandemic. We did not know what we were thinking at the moment, but it felt like this was a “take it or lose it” opportunity. We wanted a business that was not a franchise or a chain, so we decided to come up with our name, concept, and product. We knew how important it was to be healthy, especially during the pandemic. We wanted to keep it simple for customers to be able to come in and ‘craft’ their own juice, smoothie, or smoothie bowls as if they were making it at home but without all the mess that you are left with at the end. It has been a very rough start for our business trying to keep it open and trying to come up with different concepts to bring in more customers. It has been a risk that we took and we are still trying to overcome those bumps in the road. I will say it has been one of my biggest learning lessons.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Craft Juice Bar was created in 2020 during the pandemic. We were offered a suite in a plaza in north Phoenix and felt like this was the opportunity for us to open a business of our own that was not a franchise or a chain. We quickly brainstormed what type of business we wanted and decided on a juice bar where you could ‘craft’ your juice, smoothie, or smoothie bowl, without the after mess in your kitchen. Although, we would juice at home and had little knowledge of juicing it has all been a learning experience as we grow. We thrive on sticking to all-natural and real ingredients and not adding additional sugars or flavors to your smoothies. Our juices are made right in front of you so you can see all the real fruits and vegetables that go into your juice.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What I believe has helped build my reputation within my market is our concept for how we make our juices, smoothies, and smoothie bowls. Being able to give the customer the option to make it their way has been a good outcome so far. As well as building that relationships with our customers in making their order to meet their expectations.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source of new clients has been partnering with other small business owners and attending their grand openings, pop-up shops, or any other events they host. It is the perfect way to network, put my business out there, and meet new potential customers.
