We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrea Gomez . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrea below.
Alright, Andrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
In all honesty I feel like the main thing my mom has done right is raise us a single mother. She took the initiative to create a life for her and us five kids no matter the obstacles or struggles she faced. Her strength is like no other and it’s something I carry through life with me. I was raised by a strong determined woman, How could I be anything less?
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
For those who don’t know me. I am Andrea, best known as Cecilia’s Kitchen! I got into the cooking industry in 2020 when I was faced with multiple decisions in life and obstacles. Starting my business was my only option. As anyone it was easy in the beginning, it was hard and challenging but through it all I over came it. Starting off there will be a lot of mess ups, deals gone wrong, some things won’t fall through and when it seems like nothing else can go wrong, trust that something will! Lol but, you have to LOVE what you do and continue to keep pushing. God doesn’t put something in our mind and hearts if we aren’t supposed to pursue it.
I do multiple things mainly I have my cooking business. Juggling Work/Mom life/Business life is very time consuming so I narrowed everything down to the T.
I’m currently doing just desserts to sell and for caterings!
I feel like my product sets me aside from anyone else cause of my passion for it and to detail. Even with a cheesecake cup, I want it to look almost over the top. I want to include a little of everything and add a mouthful of flavors and not just what someone already expects it to be.
I’m always open to friends and just anyone in general having questions to start off or in any way I can help for small businesses, I am available!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I honestly think what helped was the fact that I am so out going when it comes to meeting people and sharing my product. I would give freebies and samples to anyone who has not tried my product as a way of, I know you’re going to love it! But, I’m so confident that you will be back that I will gladly give samples of my product just as a courtesy. It’s goes a long way being there for your customers especially when you are just starting in the industry.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back I honestly would just start it sooner. I always loved cooking and especially for people I love. I love being complimented on how good my food looks and taste.
It’s definitely a love language for me, lol.
