Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrea Curran. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrea, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
My college-aged daughter recently wrote me a letter. In it, she said “Thank you for always supporting my dreams and pushing me to be a strong woman. Having you to look up to has inspired me to work hard for what I want and to not let anyone stand between me and my goals.” In my business and my personal life, influencing women and girls to pursue their dreams relentlessly is my primary objective. I lead each member of my team to reach what they determine to be their definition of success and lay the groundwork for them to pursue any goals they set for themselves. In my spare time, I am a grade-level advisor for girls in National Charity League. I want these young girls to believe their aspirations are limitless. As a mother and grandmother of girls, there is no better legacy for me than helping to nurture strong and independent women.
Andrea, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
In five short years I’ve worked hard to become one of the top ranked real estate professionals in the Metro Houston area. I began my real estate career as an individual agent in late 2016. Since then, and with the help of supportive clients and colleagues, I’ve climbed the rankings in both production and volume. In 2019, I formed my team – The Andrea Curran Team – which has since grown to consist of eleven members committed to providing quality service and building meaningful relationships – with clients, colleagues, and community. I’m endlessly proud of my team and strive to ensure that our position at the forefront of the industry does not go unnoticed. Since our inception, we have been recognized by the Wall Street Journal Realtrends rankings, Houston Business Journal, and more. Recently, my experience with equestrian properties, both personally and professionally, has earned me a place as an expert in the Compass Ranch and Land Division.
I am also committed to volunteering with local charities and serving my community. I am a past president of the Cypress Gems Chapter of the National Charity League, Inc. and a current active member. I also serve as a guardian ad litem for children in foster care through Child Advocates, Inc and am an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Quarter Horse Committee.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I am committed to building relationships within our team and our community. My team and I are not just here to “get the deal done”. We genuinely care about our fellow team members, clients, and neighbors – and we make sure it shows! Whether we are working with a local charity, supporting local businesses, or connecting with our community, our team is here for others. In our real estate business, being at the forefront in both knowledge and technology is essential in serving our clients and community. The mutual trust required to build our business relationships builds lasting friendships. People know that we are here for them and that means the world to me. There is nothing better than hearing, “We love how you support our community.”
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I moved to Texas in 2009, I had to completely start over. I had ended my 15-year teaching career and moved from the country to the suburbs, where I knew almost no one. It was a hard time in my life, but it gave me a chance to reinvent myself and be intentional about what I wanted to do with my future. Little did I know, at that time, what an amazing adventure Texas would be! I never could have imagined what a positive impact each new opportunity here would have on me, and I am beyond grateful I was afforded an opportunity to try new things and build new relationships. I would not trade this life for anything, nor would I want to live anywhere else.
