We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andrea Coombs a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Andrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
I was a new empty nester and had time on my hands I have never had before. I was feeling a bit lost, so I decided I needed to flip my script and do something that would fill my cup utilizing all the things I love. I had a hard time focusing on just one thing, and I thought “why not do ALL the things I love!”
I had help from a friend and my sister and launched a website that would allow me to curate an experience unique to you. I added all my favorite things in one place, from yoga to cookie decorating to sewing to paper art to Thai bodywork.
I have people ordering custom art and cookies to booking classes or doing a combination of all.
Some people want a Yoga class but also want to do something artistic for a girls day. Some people just want a one on one Thai yoga session. It’s a mix and match service that allows me to be creative and never do the same thing.
I do it because I love it. I get my creative cup filled AND I get to meet some really cool people along the way. It’s a total win/win.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a 50 year old empty nester who was struggling to find a new path after my kids left the house.
My first thought was to get a traditional job, but I soon realized that I needed flexibility to be able to travel when my husband had time off. After brainstorming with my sister I came up with Little Sprout Studio. A place where I combine all my favorite things. Art, baking & Yoga.
I have a degree in education with an emphasis in art and have been a certified yoga instructor since 2009. It felt natural to lean into those skills. I fell in love with paper art and baking during COVID when I was isolated in my home and needed something to get my wiggles out.
Now I have Little Sprout Studio, where I offer all the things I have learned along my journey. A boutique curated one of a kind experience.
It has been such an evolution and I have no doubt it will continue to be! I have no idea what will speak to me as my life continues to change. It’s very exciting to age and learn.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth. I’d say 80% of my business comes from other clients, 20% social media and 10% website.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
A quality product and good communication. I always respond to any email or social media message within 24 hours. Often times I am the first to reply and therefore I get their business.
