We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Bratti recently and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. ther times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
As an electronic music producer, you are always faced with a “no”; at the beginning, before creating AUGUSTKID project, it took many years before I professionalized myself, which in the musical field means achieving a satisfying sound and a suitable style to bring to record labels,
I have lived many experiences of skepticism, both from friends and people around me, and from artists and labels with whom I now collaborate habitually; I’d say what you always hear: we must not give up if what we really like is our passion and it takes work, dedication and, why not, even a pinch of luck.
The thing I would like to add, however, is to never make the mistake of feeling arrived, today I have 300k monthly listeners on Spotify, I have published at least 30 songs between ghost productions and original songs, but despite this I continue to be rejected by the labels if my product is not suitable, just a few minutes I received negative feedback from a label to which I had sent a track; unfortunately it will always happen and you have to get used to it, make a little armor and accept the fact that you are not always approved.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an electronic music producer, and I got into it almost without realizing it, I’ve always been passionate about this kind of music, and one day, almost out of nowhere, I decided that I wanted to learn how to do it, thanks to the lockdown I had the opportunity to have a lot of free time, and while I was preparing the last university exams and the thesis, I was starting to get familiar with the music production days.
One day I wrote to a French music producer, of which I was and am currently a big fan, telling him that I loved music a lot and that it was a great influence of mine, he answered me saying that at that very moment he was opening an artist management company and, if I wanted to, to send him what I had done; this is what I did and he helped me get into the industry a little.
From 2020 onwards, working hard, I managed to slowly carve out my space, earn contacts from music labels, artists and musicians, until I get to this day.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I don’t see a particular mission in what I do, in the end I’m just a music producer who does what he likes, that is music.
I recently started working for a music label, and I’m enjoying it, I hope to continue and above all to be able to make the work of producer and freelance in music label coexist.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I would have liked to have approached earlier with the musical daw that I use to produce, it took me a long time to learn what I do and I’m still inexperienced on some things, I’m learning every day to do new things
