We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Barlow recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
I love all my lashed dolls and I appreciate them very much. They are the reason my business is flourishing! You must always show appreciation. I try my best to show appreciation in many ways. So far I have had raffles. This is where your customers can purchase a certain amount of tickets for lower prices. Once the slot has closed to purchase ticket, names are enter in a spin wheel and it will fairly choose the winner. The winner will receive multiple items from our brand for half price you will pay for our lash items. We have lashed Friday sale each and every Friday. The sale is to promote deals , show the love for their loyalty and build clientele. Customers are able to purchase two items for the price of one. We also try to do birthday shoutouts consistently for each lashed doll on their birthdays.
Andrea, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Andrea Barlow , I am the founder and CEO of Lashed By A.Marie LLC. I am a Certified Lash Technician & Supplier. We specialize in beauty. We have been founded since 2019. It started off as just a thought but not long after I made into my lifestyle. I have always been into beauty and huge on women empowerment. I asked myself this question “What can I do to influence women to embrace their beauty “? The answer was lashes. I came up with the name Lashed By A.Marie. I wanted my business to be a representation of myself. Our slogan is Peace , Love , &Lashes. This slogan speaks to me. I am big on peace , very loving and of course the word lashes speaks for it self. Before starting off , I did a lot of research to seek out what I would be going against in this industry because it’s such a huge business. I knew I wanted to be different and I did just that. Each collection has a variety of lashes and they are all named. At the moment we have seven different lash collections. We recently drop our seventh lash collection this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. This lash collection is called Pinktober. In the month of October the color pink represent breast cancer. Breast Cancer has affected my family. I did my research and testing lashes months before dropping this collection. This collection has a total of three pair of lashes and each lash has the color pink. I can tell you running a business is not easy. You will have times that customers may not be satisfied but you have to remember the customer is always right. The thing I am most proud about is that I have not given up. Just like anything, you have seasons. Great seasons, okay seasons and bad seasons.The key is to never give up , keep pushing , and believing in you. I am grateful for the challenges I have faced thus far and I am looking forward to prospering more.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
To Foster brand loyalty by building my business on customer satisfaction. Everything is about the customer and I make sure they know. This is achieved by words of encouragement, reposts, reasonable accommodations. I keep in touch with them through social media and some of the really loyal ones have my phone number.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
To grow your clientele it takes hard work and dedication. You have to be very consistent. Your content matters to the your viewers a lot. You have to post consistently. You should post at least twice a day. For me , I had to study my audience. I had to see when everyone would be online and decide which times of the day my posts would be more effective. I reach out to makeup artists to debut any new lash drops that were coming up. I also have a brand ambassador. She has played a huge role in the growth of clientele. She always debuts any look for new drops. She posts on all her social media platforms as well. Our quality is top tier. We believe in providing nothing but the best. This makes customers feel great about purchasing with us and it builds a connection that turns into loyalty and consistency. From this, they are sharing with others where to purchase their lash products from. Pop-up shops are effective for growing you clientele as well. At these events you are able to network. You will get an insight on how you are different from others. You get to see what you could do differently to be better.
