We were lucky to catch up with Andre Taylor recently and have shared our conversation below.

Andre , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

Honestly, doing what I do now as being a production designer I learned the business on the fly, I was self taught. I started off as a PA and worked my way up through every department. I don’t think there is a way to speed up the learning process. You have to be hands on in the field learning as you go. My handy man and carpenter skills were the most important skills to the growth of my business.
My main obstacle was understanding how to run a business.
I never went to school for it, so I was learning as I moved up.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Well I moved from chicago to LA 9 years ago. With a dollar and a dream. My close friend invited me to move there and work with him as a PA and from there the possibilities were endless.
My business name now is All Creatives Welcome ( ACW )
We are a full service production company. We work on any thing from movies to events.
We have a full fabrication team as well. Coming into this position you have to have crazy discipline being introduced to this fast pace high stress level environment
ACW provides services for Art Dept on production sets – to running stages for artist on their tours.
I am in charge of creating a world that the director or client sees in their mind
I think that the fact that I am super resourceful is what sets me apart from others. The ability to make something out of nothing.
I am most proud of the growth of ACW and myself as well, this learning curve hasn’t easy but I have being loving every bit of it.
I just want the company to keep reaching new heights.
ACW is based out of three cities now Chicago , Los Angeles , Atlanta ,Las Vegas
ACW is working towards being a community of young creatives.
We can accomplish any task under the production umbrella.
We work a lot in fabrications and set design.
Music videos , tv shows , movies, photo shoots , events , installations etc.
We have worked for some of the top companies in the industry including Lyrical Lemonade , SPRKBX , BET etc.
As a company we have over 2 billion views on in our catalog of projects that we worked on.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Earlier in my career I wish I knew about different machinery to complete more difficult task. Such as CNC and 3D printing.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal is for us to be a full service film studio/creative space. I want all creators from all around to be able to come into the ACW Warehouse, and feel comfortable with creating anything they feel that comes to mind. Whether it is recording music, or just wanting to be in a quiet room reading a book we want you to be comfortable while you are creating .
