Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andre Stewart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Andre, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Making a short film during a global pandemic and using my own money and others to make it work. I’m on the the spectrum so just difficulty of just sitting down and writing was hard enough but I can only write so much, but I had help James Garcia he sort of pushed me to do it, because I certainly wouldn’t have gone as big as we did, I think most difficult was the changes to the script I wrote something I was proud of, but because of funding and logistics it had to change. But I think the risk was worth it because I put it in a film festival and I got to be finalist 2 times and got a premier so I just feel like I can do it again.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

It was all by happy accident I was in comedy at first I have a YouTube channel which is strange it’s been 8 years since I started and I have to get out of my comfort zone on one because I was shirtless in one video, but most i played to my past strengths because for awhile I was a haunted house monster for awhile, all I want to do is show what I can do I’m not a writer more a concept guy and director so people need that I’m available, I also have a podcast I produce called the truth about nothing podcast with the breakout crew it’s on all streaming platforms and iHeartRadio also soon real radio.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

I didn’t know there was a program to write scripts to I did celtx then I was directed to final draft that was a huge learning curve so it took me awhile to learn how to use it, if I knew about this I would have more scripts done already.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

The film festival I entered in many of the filmmakers seemed to ignore me and another person on the spectrum we got no interaction till I had to call them out and still in the second one same film festival still nothing but I still called them out and no response note to self don’t do international film festivals even if they seem friendly.
