We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andre Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andre below.
Andre, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
Well it all started out with modeling, before I wanted to be behind the camera. I worked with a mentor for years before I decided to pick up a camera myself. I was trained with dealing with lightening, and angles, as well as location. I also was trained with editing styles to get the exact look I wanted. Even though I received a lot of backlash in the beginning for my photography I still persued it. I just kept my faith and as I continued to study my craft my improvements were obvious. All the way to the point I was creating my own projects in studios.

Andre, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started out with the Kathi Larsen Agency a supermodel who chose to open up an agency to help young models. Within the agency I learned to study poses, learned some acting skills, and also took some etiquette classes as well. From there I was trained by photography professionals and combined my training to become the photographer I am today. I started my first project in 2018 in a studio with models and started to create my own modeling team and my own style of photography. From there I started to compete in numerous competitions and actually started winning.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal has always to be able to get my work to become recognizable which is why I competed in so many photography competitions to get my name out there. From that my work ended up becoming international from some of my work being shown in a London England art gallery, my work made it international before I physically did lol.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My business and projects have always been funded by myself from paying for studios to paying models compensation when needed. My career is being in IT in the corporate environment so I make a decent living to be able to compensate for everything I’ve needed while on my journey as a photographer.
