Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andre/Erick Fella/Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Andre/Erick thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
At the start of our dive into screen printing, we were originally looking to fund our bands and small creative projects. We were in college and looking for our own outlet to apply everything we learned to so we could share with others. With our past DIY experiences, we didn’t think twice about getting into printing on a serious level. We were able to figure out the basics and that’s all we needed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Our goal from the start has been to make quality screen printed merchandise for our friends, new or old. We got into the industry through our roots in music and street art and thrive on keeping our direction close in line. Whether it’s the band leaving on tour, or the local gym owner, it’s been a real joy to watch how the clothing we create with our clients can showcase our city of El Paso.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
At the very beginning of our business we were at the bare minimum. $500 and strategic planning is all it took. While researching screen printing businesses, it was daunting seeing these massive set ups with all the high tech gear. As a collective we knew we could pull through and make it work. We purchased a small diy setup and some workshop lights and got to it.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Erick and myself met during high school! Early on we began experimenting with clothing and making things for ourselves and our friends. It’s rare to meet a business partner that fully understands your vision but we’ve been fortunate. We can bounce ideas off of each other and trust that we get honest feedback, and honestly that has been the best part of creating this business.
