We were lucky to catch up with Andoni Garcia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andoni, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
I think the biggest challenge is to stand out over the million wedding videographers that are out there. What I’ve seen is a lack in the story telling point of view since now a day everyone is looking to go viral instead of serving each couple with their unique love story.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I work 15 years in front of the camera and I never felt that I belong. My wife always told me that I will be great behind the camera because my vision in my ideas and when I switch to be behind the camera, I just felt that I belong it felt completely right and I felt way more fulfilled.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
At the beginning of extremely hard cause I didn’t know if I was gonna make it my brother happy to be visiting me and Vegas and I only knew one friend and he was really beautiful so I bought three wedding dresses from China not knowing if he was gonna sue her, and when they got here, it just right, so I pulled together and stylish, shooting by myself with my brother and her no flowers at all, I didn’t know anyone I didn’t have anything. I had an extremely old camera and it put together a video and it seems like people started liking. it had over 30,000 views my first two videos and I say I think this is it I’m gonna put all my effort to this business suffer the next six months I invested around $15,000 in education not knowing if it’s gonna be profitable I spent almost all my savingsand somehow I started booking clients in within my first year I book 32 weddings
