We were lucky to catch up with Anayadira Guillen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anayadira, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
As the founder of My Swolemates, the mission behind the app comes from my own personal experiences with fitness and accountability. I’ve always believed that working out can be more than just a solo journey. It’s about connecting with others who motivate and support you. For me, having someone to push me and keep me accountable was key to staying on track with my goals.
That’s why I created My Swolemates to provide a platform where people can find their fitness partners. Someone who will keep them motivated, celebrate their wins, and help them push through the tough days. Our goal is to make fitness a shared experience, because I believe we’re all stronger when we lift each other up, both physically and mentally.
Ultimately, My Swolemates is about creating a supportive community where accountability, encouragement, and partnership help people become their best selves. Stronger, healthier, and more confident, together.

Anayadira, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the founder of My Swolemates, It’s a brand new social networking app that launched on February 25,2025. An app designed to help people find fitness partners who can motivate, support, and hold them accountable throughout their fitness journeys. My passion for fitness and community sparked the idea for My Swolemates, as I’ve personally experienced the positive impact of having a workout buddy by my side. It can be difficult to stay committed to fitness on your own, but when you have someone else to share the ups and downs with, it becomes so much easier to push through and stay consistent.
Before launching the app, I realized that many people struggle to maintain motivation and need a sense of community to truly thrive. Or maybe feel intimidated going to a new gym alone. I wanted to create a solution that made it simple to find fitness partners who not only matched your goals and interests but could also become a source of positive encouragement and just simply make friends
My Swolemates is more than just an app. It’s a platform designed to foster accountability, motivation, and connection. Our goal is to create a network where people come together to inspire each other in whatever fitness journey they are on, either losing weight. Gaining muscle or simply staying healthy. The problem we solve is helping individuals find the right support system for their fitness journey, which can make all the difference in achieving success.
What sets us apart from others is our focus on building meaningful connections based on shared fitness goals and mutual support, and connecting you to likeminded individuals. It is an app that it’s first of its kind, because it is the first social networking app that just for gym goers.
I’m most proud of how far My Swolemates has come in such a short time. Launching this app was the culmination of a lot of hard work, passion, and belief in the power of community. While we’re still in the early stages and haven’t yet seen long-term success stories, I’m excited to watch the app grow and see the positive impact it will have as more people join and start connecting. The potential for what we’re building is huge, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves as users begin to find their fitness partners and reach their goals together.
For potential users and supporters, I want you to know that My Swolemates isn’t just another fitness app. It’s a social networking app. It’s a tool that fosters a sense of community and helps you build lasting relationships that push you to be the best version that you want to be. Whether you’re just starting or you’ve been at it for years, we’re here to make your fitness journey a shared experience. Not to mention this is YOUR app. Meaning i encourage feedback. I encourage users to be in control of what features they want the app to have and to take the app to where they want it to go.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I used my personal credit cards to hire the software development team and work with them to complete all phases for the app build including its coding. I also used it to register the company. However, i’m currently still looking now for business capital for advertisement and hiring a team

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I enjoy reading self development books, financial literacy, or stoicism. However one of the many books that has influenced me would have to be “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz, PH.D. This book has influenced me by showing me how my own doubts were holding me back from chasing bigger dreams. It taught me to set bold goals for myself and actually believe I could reach them, which felt like a game-changer. The way it pushes me to think positively and act with confidence has made me tackle things I’d have avoided before. I’ve started picturing my own success more clearly, and that’s sparked a real drive to make it happen. Honestly, reading it feels like having a mentor cheering me on to stop playing small and step up
