We were lucky to catch up with Anastassia Rabajille recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Anastassia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the most meaningful projects I have participated in, is the NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program “Admitted: USA, Round One” Exhibition at Centro the Artes in San Antonio, TX.
As a multimedia artist from Chile, my work references personal narrative of social dislocation, oppression, turbulent governmental estrangement and the exploration of self-identity highlighting my U.S. immigrant experience and personal navigations with the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) process.

Anastassia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Anastassia Rabajille and I am an artist born in Santiago, Chile and currently living in San Antonio, Texas. In the fall of 2015 I received a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree at the University of Texas in San Antonio; focused in painting and drawing.
I have been a part of SaySi, a nonprofit art organization and after school program in San Antonio; which gave me the opportunity to contribute to Heaven for Hope mural project in 2010 and the San Anto Cultural Arts for Hispanic heritage month.
My artistic process started very early on, and I continue to pursue my interest in sociopolitical themes, humanitarian issues and herbal studies in my art.
Today, a bast majority of my work is available through the involvement of art markets; including the areas of San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin, Bee Cave and Corpus Christi, TX.
This propelled me to create my own brand as an artist, which I named Anastassia R.X. (you can find examples of my work on Instagram @anastassiarxarte)
For this type of vending and market events, I will sell original works but also I bring in prints, upcycled work, stickers and a variety of handpainted bags with all original works.
I am the most proud about my work by being able to use organic materials that are Eco-friendly and finding creative ideas to upcycle items, and giving these materials a new meaning and use.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
This starts with learning the value of art and handmade crafts. This can be acquired by participating in shows, exhibits, art events, and understanding that buying art is only one of many ways to support an artists.
Contributing to their social media with interaction as sharing, liking, following the artist page and visiting their web sites, can help the artist get more exposure and reach to new audiences.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is having an outlet that guides & helps you navigate emotions and daily life struggles by filtering them, which acts as a healing tool for the artist and even the viewer.
