We were lucky to catch up with Anastasia Fox recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anastasia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
I always dreamed of AnaFoxBeauty. After nearly 20 years in the beauty industry, and years working as a nurse, I knew I was ready to create something of my own. A space where I could bring together clinical experience, healing energy, and beauty that truly makes women feel empowered from the inside out.
When I finally took that leap, everything felt uncertain. I had just moved to a new city. I didn’t know anyone. I had no clients, no support system, no team. But I had a vision. I found a luxurious little suite. It was small, but it felt like everything I had been dreaming of. It was peaceful, elegant, and mine. It was the first thing I had created for myself in a long time.
At the same time I was building my physical space, everything I had built online was falling apart. My website was stolen, and someone tried to sell it back to me for $1,000. My Facebook business page was hacked. My Google business account – filled with early client reviews, was blocked after I changed the address. I lost everything I had worked so hard to build online, just as I was trying to step into my dream.
I was doing it all alone. I performed every facial, lash extension, brow lamination, and Reiki session myself. I was also managing my messages, creating content, cleaning, ordering supplies. I funded the early days with credit cards, believing the dream would be worth the risk. I didn’t have a team or any kind of backup. There were days I felt completely overwhelmed. But I kept showing up.
Clients started coming in. They could feel the energy I put into everything. They didn’t just come for treatments – they came because something about the space, the experience, the connection felt different.
Ana Fox Beauty wasn’t built on followers or funding. It was built on trust, healing hands, and deep care. I’m still working in that same beautiful suite. I’m still a one-woman show, but I’ve built something meaningful. And I know it will grow.
Because what I’m creating is real. Because every part of it comes from love, not shortcuts. Because I’m not just offering beauty. I’m creating transformation.
It may be small now, but it’s powerful. And this is only the beginning.

My name is Anastasia Fox, and I’m the founder and solo practitioner behind AnaFoxBeauty, a luxury holistic skincare and wellness studio in Woodland Hills, California. With a background as a nurse and a licensed esthetician, I bring a unique blend of clinical knowledge and soulful healing into every treatment.
At AnaFoxBeauty, skincare is more than a service – it’s a ritual. I offer results-driven, high-touch treatments including organic facials, Korean filler facials, sculpting and lymphatic massage, LED therapy, lash and brow services, and Reiki energy healing. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was that I needed to “do it all” to prove my worth. As a former nurse and now a solo beauty entrepreneur, I was used to putting others first, staying strong, and pushing through everything even when I was depleted.
When I opened AnaFoxBeauty, I carried that same pattern into my business. I did everything: the facials, lashes, brows, Reiki, booking, content, laundry all while trying to stay perfect online. I didn’t ask for help. I believed that working harder meant I was doing better. But the truth was, I was burning out.
What I’ve slowly learned and continue to learn is that success doesn’t come from struggle alone. It comes from alignment. From rest. From doing fewer things, but with more intention. I had to let go of the pressure to be everywhere, all the time. I had to soften without seeing that as weakness.
Today, I still run AnaFoxBeauty alone. But I no longer carry the belief that I have to suffer to succeed. I believe in beauty with boundaries, service with soul, and building slowly, but from truth. That shift changed everything.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation wasn’t built overnight and it wasn’t built through advertising or flashy trends. It grew through word-of-mouth, one soul at a time.
Clients come to AnaFoxBeauty not just for glowing skin, but to feel safe, seen, and empowered. My background as a nurse taught me how to care with depth, and my work with energy healing allowed me to bring that care to a whole new level.
Every treatment whether it’s a facial, lashes, or brows – is a ritual. A space for women to return to themselves. I don’t rush. I don’t cut corners. I listen not just to skin, but to energy, to emotion, to intuition.
I believe that’s what built my reputation. Not marketing tricks, but the real connection and results women walk away with. They tell their friends, their sisters, their coworkers. And slowly, my little business became a quiet movement.
