We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Analia Farfan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Analia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
A composer from Sicily asked me to create a ballet on his music and suddenly a friend told me his best friend passed away from Lupus disease, and she felt devastated as he was her mentor and his true friend, I immediately felt it was the perfect match for the music, originally the name of the music was “Ave Maria” so I kept the name as the original.
“Ave Maria” inspired on a true story tells a girl ‘s grief of loosing her mentor to Lupus, in her dreams she finally reunites with him through dance on another world.
This ballet won 7 international Ballet online Competitions during the pandemic and after and we did the premier in a hospital in New York to fundraise to help find a cure for Lupus.
I felt my mission as an artist was complete by helping and inspiring others.
Since then I founded my company The International American Ballet,

The International American Ballet‘s mission is to inspire and educate, emphasizing the preservation history and tradition of classical ballet, traditional dances , as well as the future of dance with new choreography, incorporating programs that promote diversity and inclusion, giving opportunities to all genres of dance to showcase.
