We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anahi Barron a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anahi, appreciate you joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents are far from perfect but they have taught me so much in life, anything from being a hardworking individual, following your dreams, standing up for yourself etc.
My parents have always wanted the best for my siblings and I. They have both worked incredibly hard to make sure they set good examples and make sure we had everything we need to survive. I personally have a huge amount of respect and admiration for them both. They have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and never shut down an idea or dream of mine, this has always been a positive in my life, knowing I can count on them for anything and everything!

Anahi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I first launched my business during one of the hardest times of my life. I was grieving and after a few months I felt like launching my business would help me get my mind off of my pain.
I had been a freelance MUA for about 8 years and I have always felt like makeup can really make a difference not just physically for emotionally and mentally for some. I first launched my brand with just lashes, happy to announce Dramatica now offers cosmetics as well and continues to grow.
Recently, I had what felt like a huge problem with my business. My supplier discontinued a lot of my lashes or they were constantly changing the structure of my handmade lash styles and although I tried to be understanding and patient, I knew the products didn’t meet my expectations and I was forced to drop my supplier completely. This affected me in so many ways, I felt like just giving up completely, I felt discouraged and disappointed. It took me about 2 months to officially come back to social media and slowly rebirth my business.
I am incredibly proud of my new and improved lashes and especially proud of the collection I chose as a comeback. My “I am” collection consists of lash styles named after self affirmations. I had many reasons for doing this however, my main reason was to promote more self love and empower our amazing customers! I am Enough. I am Capable. I am Brave. I am Confident. Those are just four of the names of the lashes, and the goal is to make sure you believe these things about yourselves!
Dramaticas future is bright. So many ideas and so much more to come! Trial and tribulation can only makes us all come back stronger!
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I worked in Healthcare for 12 years, i love helping others! But I had another passion, and that was my love for the Beauty Industry.
I work full time and over time on my Business. I am often attending events to meet new potential customers and friends!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
It’s so hard when you are just starting out! But, because it’s so hard that means you have to work 3 times harder to get your name out there! Attend events, introduce yourself, follow people who are interested in your products, build positive friendships, collaborate with other small business owners, your potential customers don’t know you exist, they will not come to you, YOU have to do all the work and show everyone what makes you so different! 😉
