We were lucky to catch up with Anabel Servin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anabel, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Buying my first house felt like riding a rollercoaster! I had to switch realtors three times before finding “the one”. The first realtor didn’t get what I wanted and kept showing me houses in areas I didn’t like. Plus, after each viewing, they were all like, “Quick! Make an offer!” Stressful, right? Then, the second realtor was super busy, so I felt like I was on the back burner. Talk about frustrating!
Just when I was about to throw in the towel, a colleague swooped in with a recommendation for a fantastic realtor. This guy listened to what I wanted! This realtor listened attentively, explained every step of the process, and made me feel like a priority despite undoubtedly having other clients Can you believe it? Within three months, I was signing papers for my dream home.
Reflecting on my journey, I realized the differences among the three realtors I encountered. This experience inspired my mission as an agent – to prioritize education, maintain open communication, and guide clients through every aspect of their real estate journey with their best interests at heart. Ultimately, I strive to ensure my clients feel confident and secure in their significant investment, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After enduring the stress of purchasing my first home, I was inspired to become a real estate agent. With a background as a teacher for 12 years, I bring a unique perspective and skill set to this industry. I excel in problem-solving, finding creative solutions for my clients, and connecting them with the right lenders tailored to their specific situations. My work ethic and dedication to my clients are sources of immense pride for me. Every “No” I encounter only fuels my determination to find solutions for my clients. Plus I am bilingual and speak fluent Spanish.
I take great satisfaction in assisting a diverse range of individuals, from single parents to ITIN clients, and those selling their homes due to personal reasons. To me, my clients aren’t just clients; they’re friends. Even after they receive the keys to their new home, or sell their house, my services don’t stop there. I maintain regular follow-ups to ensure their ongoing comfort and address any questions or concerns they may have.
The majority of my business comes from referrals, a testament to the trust and satisfaction of my clients. While I have many stories to share, time constraints limit me from sharing them all. However, each story underscores my commitment to providing exceptional service and making real estate dreams a reality for everyone I work with.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Transitioning from a stable payroll job as a teacher to the unpredictable world of commission-based real estate wasn’t a decision I made lightly, believe me. It took me four years to gather the courage to take the leap. During that time, I meticulously planned my transition, ensuring I had enough savings to cover my expenses, including my mortgage, for five months. I knew that financial stability was key; if money became scarce, it could easily lead me back to teaching.
Approaching real estate as a business became my mantra. Despite the absence of a boss or a physical workplace to clock in, discipline, impeccable time management, and a business mindset were essential. Every day demanded hustle. As someone once said, real estate agents wake up “unemployed” every day.
Embracing this entrepreneurial journey required me to acquire new skills, including understanding the importance of marketing, leveraging social media, and stepping out of my comfort zone. Real estate has been a driving force for personal and professional growth, allowing me to discover new talents and passions along the way. It’s transformed me into a skilled businesswoman, a proficient real estate agent, and so much more.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The backbone of my business comes from referrals, mainly from past clients, family, and friends. These referrals reflect the trust and satisfaction my clients have in my services. When someone recommends me, it’s a clear sign of their confidence in my abilities as a real estate agent. This level of trust from the outset makes transactions smoother and highlights the strong relationships I’ve built with my clients.
