Hi Aña, thanks for joining us today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
Securing representation with the right agent has been a transformative experience in my journey as a talent manager. From my perspective, there are a few things I would like to address if you are trying to get signed by an agent. Firstly, Building A Strong Foundation is crucial for talents seeking representation. I encourage my clients to dedicate time and effort to honing their craft, developing impressive portfolios or reels, and showcasing their unique talents and skills. I manage a wide array of talent in the entertainment industry but I would say that these pointers are important across the board. By investing in self-improvement and professional development, talents position themselves as attractive prospects for agents. As their talent manager, I work closely with them to ensure they have a strong foundation that sets them apart in the industry.
The second point would be Targeted Research. In my role as a talent manager, targeted research plays a pivotal role in finding the right agent. Together with my clients, we delve into in-depth research to identify agencies that align with their specific career goals, artistic style, and niche. Studying an agency’s client roster, success stories, and industry reputation enables us to gauge if the agency is a suitable fit for their aspirations. By guiding my clients through this research process, I empower them to make informed decisions about the agencies they approach.
The next is Networking and Powerful Connections. In fact, I would say this is the case in anything you do or any industry you may be in. Networking is a powerful tool in the journey towards securing representation. I encourage my clients to actively engage in industry events, workshops, and showcases to forge connections with agents and industry professionals. Through building relationships with fellow artists, attending networking events, and seeking referrals from trusted sources, my clients gain invaluable opportunities to showcase their talents and capture the attention of agents.
As a talent manager, I play a vital role in guiding and positioning my clients for success in securing representation. From my perspective, I collaborate closely with talents, identifying their goals and aspirations, assisting in building their portfolios or reels, and providing guidance on self-improvement and professional development. Leveraging my industry knowledge and connections, I identify suitable agents and facilitate introductions. Additionally, I support my clients in crafting compelling pitches and presentations that make them shine in the eyes of agents. I also do this if I work with you on a consulting basis if you are not signed with a manager OR an agent. It is immensely fulfilling to empower my clients and help them navigate the path to representation.

As a producer, talent manager, and brand and talent consultant, my career in the entertainment industry has been a dynamic and fulfilling journey.
Born into an entertainment-centric family, I was immersed in the world of music, dance, and performance from a young age. Building upon this foundation, I ventured into the realm of modeling, walking the runways of high-profile fashion shows at a young age. This early exposure to the industry fueled my passion and propelled me toward new horizons.
Driven by my artistic instincts, I expanded my expertise beyond modeling. With my experience and innate understanding of the industry, I naturally found myself mentoring and developing young talents. The journey led me to explore makeup, hair, and photography, becoming a trusted guide for aspiring individuals and their families. Witnessing their growth and success brought me immense joy and a sense of fulfillment.
But my involvement didn’t stop there. Recognizing the need for comprehensive support in the entertainment world, I ventured into talent management and consultancy. Without formal agreements, I took on the role of a talent manager, guiding artists from various disciplines, including dance, music, and acting. Additionally, I embraced the role of a brand and talent consultant, assisting individuals in discovering their authentic personal brand and positioning themselves for success.
As my career progressed, I further honed my skills as a producer. Founding Dadirri Creative, my creative production company, I collaborate with a talented partner to bring captivating scripts and concepts to life for television and film. Simultaneously, I continue to oversee the management division of the company, ensuring the growth and success of the talented individuals I represent.
Throughout my journey, I have always believed in the power of knowledge and understanding. Embracing the role of a “Jane of All Trades,” I have cultivated a deep understanding of various facets of the entertainment industry. This enables me to speak the language of decision-makers, fostering meaningful conversations and forging connections that drive careers forward. I impart this wisdom to those I mentor and manage, emphasizing the importance of knowing their craft and the industry inside out.

Looking back on my creative journey, I realize the profound impact that mentorship and mindset can have, especially in the early stages of one’s career. As I embarked on my path in the entertainment industry, I yearned for guidance and support, someone who could provide valuable insights and help shape my perspective. Unfortunately, I didn’t have access to such mentorship early on, and I now understand the significance of its absence.
In the formative years of my career, I had to navigate the complexities of the industry largely on my own. While my passion and determination fueled my progress, I couldn’t help but wonder how different my journey could have been if I had someone to guide me, to share their wisdom and experiences. Having a mentor who understood the intricacies of the creative world and could offer valuable advice would have been invaluable.
Moreover, the power of mindset cannot be underestimated. I realize now that cultivating a positive and resilient mindset is crucial, particularly when faced with obstacles and setbacks. Early in my career, I had moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, questioning whether I was on the right path or how I was going to accomplish all I needed to do to succeed. I have always been a very determined individual and usually knew where I wanted to go and what I wanted to go after from a very young age, and I saw very early on that your mindset is so imperative in your journey, in any industry you may want to be in.
Witnessing the impact of mentorship later in my journey, I yearn for the opportunity to have had access to these invaluable resources earlier. I can only imagine how it would have shaped my perspective, accelerated my growth, and provided me with the tools needed to overcome challenges with grace and determination and moreover, really be able to plan out my blueprint earlier on.
Now, as I reflect upon my own experiences, I am committed to being that mentor and guide for others embarking on their creative journeys. I understand the immense value of offering support, sharing knowledge, and instilling the right mindset in aspiring artists. Through mentorship, I aim to provide guidance, inspire confidence, and help others realize their full potential from the outset of their careers.

The ever-evolving landscape of technology and the increasing saturation of my industry brought about a pivotal moment in my business and life. As I witnessed rapid advancements in technology, I realized that embracing change and adapting to new trends was crucial to staying relevant and competitive. The influx of individuals pursuing similar paths in the business further intensified the need for differentiation and innovation.
With the rise of digital platforms and social media, the way people consumed entertainment and engaged with creative content underwent a profound shift. It became evident that traditional approaches were no longer sufficient, and I had to pivot my strategies to meet the evolving demands of the market. Embracing technology became imperative, as it offered new avenues to reach audiences, connect with collaborators, and showcase my work.
Navigating through the sea of talented individuals vying for attention in my industry posed another challenge. The saturation of the market meant that standing out required a unique approach and a distinct voice. I had to delve deep into self-discovery, uncovering what set me apart and leveraging it to carve out my own niche. By emphasizing my unique strengths, honing my skills, and constantly innovating, I could differentiate myself from the crowd and offer something truly exceptional.
Just as I was navigating the changing tides of technology and market saturation, the unexpected arrival of the global pandemic brought yet another wave of transformation. The world was thrust into a state of uncertainty, and the entertainment industry faced unprecedented challenges. Productions halted, live events were canceled, and the way we consumed content shifted dramatically. It was a time that demanded resilience, adaptability, and creative problem-solving.
In response to the pandemic’s impact, I had to pivot my business and life once again. With restrictions on physical gatherings, I embraced virtual collaborations, remote work setups, and digital platforms to continue creating and connecting with my clients. I explored new ways to deliver and engage, leveraging the power of technology to bridge the physical distance. Most of all, I realized that what I was doing at the time was not going to be “pandemic proof” and that I needed to make adjustments to deal with the changing landscape.
Amidst the challenges and uncertainties, the experiences of navigating technology changes and market saturation, as well as the disruptions caused by the pandemic, have shaped me and my business in profound ways. They have taught me the importance of being agile, open-minded, and adaptable. I now approach challenges with a mindset of resilience, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, innovation, and reinvention.
While the journey has not been without its obstacles, I have come to embrace these pivotal moments as catalysts for personal and professional evolution.
