We recently connected with Ana Maria Cattani and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ana Maria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
Thank you for having me! As an Integrative Health Coach, my role revolves around creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to share their struggles and concerns. I specialize in working with women navigating perimenopause and menopause—a stage of life that often brings significant physical and emotional challenges. My focus is on truly listening to my clients and meeting them where they are in their unique health journeys.
I remember one client who enrolled in my 3-month program. She was struggling with weight management, chronic stress, and sleep issues, and, to be honest, she was skeptical about working with a coach. She wasn’t sure she could open up or make real progress. I have to admit, at the beginning, I wasn’t sure I could help. But as we worked together, I took the time to create a supportive environment, helping her make small, realistic changes that built toward her long-term goals. By the end of our program, she not only had the tools and lifestyle habits to manage her symptoms but also felt empowered and in control of her well-being.
What made this experience so meaningful for both of us was the personal connection we built. I make it a point to be there for my clients beyond our scheduled sessions—whether through a quick text message or a phone call when they need guidance or encouragement. This client later told me that knowing I was there for her made her feel truly supported and cared for. For me, that’s what being a health coach is all about: showing clients that they’re not alone and helping them believe in their ability to create meaningful, lasting changes.
Ana Maria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from Ecuador, where I earned a degree in Finance—but life had other plans for me.
My wellness journey began nearly 20 years ago when I moved to the United Arab Emirates with my husband and two young kids. Navigating the challenges of living abroad was a transformative experience, and it was during this time that I discovered yoga and meditation. These practices quickly became essential sources of balance and resilience in my life. Inspired by the wisdom and passion of my teachers, I was motivated to deepen my practice and eventually earned my Yoga Teacher Certification.
In 2011, after relocating to Houston, I began teaching yoga to adults and children. As my practice deepened, I became more in tune with my body and noticed how food and lifestyle choices impacted my well-being. This awareness fueled a natural shift toward healthier living and a desire to explore nutrition and wellness more deeply.
I earned my Health Coach Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, specializing in hormone health for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause. I believe that during this transformative time, women deserve support and understanding to navigate the changes and challenges that arise. Thriving through menopause is achievable with the right tools and knowledge. After all, with lifespans extending well into our eighties and beyond, menopause is truly the beginning of a new chapter.
I offer several programs tailored to support this journey:
One-on-One Coaching: I work closely with my clients in private sessions to understand their unique concerns and goals. Together, we address all aspects of health—including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep hygiene—so they can reach their wellness goals holistically.
Thriving Through Menopause: Launching in the fall of 2025, this group program will provide essential knowledge and tools to navigate the changes and challenges of perimenopause/ menopause. Each participant will also receive one individual coaching session with me for personalized guidance and support.
Pantry Refresh: This program teaches clients how to read nutrition labels and ingredients to make healthier choices. During an in-home session, we review the pantry, fridge, and freezer, identifying healthier swaps to support their wellness journey.
Detox Programs: My 5-Day Whole Foods Beginner’s Detox is designed to help clients feel energized and revitalized without sacrificing real food. It’s a gentle, supportive way to reset and refresh.
These programs are crafted to offer women the support, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive during every stage of this transformative time.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has definitely been word of mouth. I am incredibly grateful that my clients trust me enough to recommend my work to their family and friends. Coaching is deeply personal, it’s built on trust and, to some extent, the right chemistry between coach and client. When a client refers someone to me, it reflects the connection we’ve built and the results they’ve experienced. Those referrals are rewarding and a testament to the meaningful impact of the work we do together.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I believe staying connected with clients and fostering brand loyalty comes down to consistent, meaningful communication and providing value even after our work together ends.
I keep in touch with clients through engaging social media posts tailored to women over 40, especially those navigating perimenopause and menopause. These posts include recipes, tips on nutrition, stress management, exercise, and mindset shifts—designed to empower and support them in their health journeys.
Additionally, I send monthly newsletters with helpful insights, seasonal health tips, and updates on programs or workshops I’m offering. The newsletters feel like an extension of our sessions, helping clients stay inspired and aligned with their goals.
On a more personal level, I also make myself available to clients through follow-up emails, texts, or even quick calls if they need support or have questions. This combination of personal outreach and community-building content creates trust and ensures clients feel supported even after they’ve completed a program with me. It’s all about creating an ongoing relationship rather than a one-time service.
