We were lucky to catch up with Ana Garcia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I got my first camera when I was a teen. I took it everywhere to take photos of my friends and family. Art and photography always interested me. In college, I took photography courses to learn more. I also read a lot of books on taking photos and editing. Taking courses whether online or in-person are great. You can learn a lot from others than just reading about it on your own. Go out and practice. The more hands-on the better.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a photographer and artist, born and raised in Miami. I’ve always loved art and photography. I received a Bachelors in Fine Art, specifically Drawing while also having an interest in photography. I had several exhibitions with my drawings and photography. I eventually decided to focus more on photography. I love photographing nature, landscapes, wildlife, and beaches. I sell prints of my photos of nature, beaches, landscapes, sky, sunset, sunrise, wildlife and more. There is so much to see in this world. I love taking the time to appreciate and capture Mother Nature that is around us.
I also love to capture all the special moments in people’s lives by taking photos of family, friends, and small events so you can cherish them forever. Without it being documented, you might miss or forget that one moment of what happened or how you looked. I want to help you capture and preserve all those moments and memories.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing my client smile as they’re so happy with the photos they received. It could be from the family portrait session to the print to decorate their home. Seeing them smile and feeling loved by our moments spent together is the best.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source is by word of mouth. My friends and family who also become clients recommend others about my services and products. I have several friends who are all family that I have been documenting all the special moments in their kids lives. I get to see them growing up into wonderful young adults. Spreading the word in person or online with reviews helps. I can’t thank my clients enough for doing that.
