We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ana Bueno. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ana below.
Hi Ana , thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Before I ever became a chef, I was an entrepreneur in a completely different field — a demanding, high-pressure, male-dominated environment where results mattered more than wellbeing. I learned discipline, resilience, and strategy, but I also learned how easily we can lose connection with ourselves when we operate only from our minds and never from our bodies.
That realization sparked a curiosity that changed everything. I sold my business and went back to study Culinary Arts, driven by a desire to create beauty, to connect with the senses, and to express myself through something tangible and nourishing. I eventually became an Executive Chef in Michelin-starred environments — a world of precision, adrenaline, and artistry. I thrived there for a time, mastering the craft of transforming ingredients into experiences.
But as I grew, a quiet truth began to surface: feeding for the sake of feeding wasn’t enough anymore. I wanted to understand how food could regenerate, heal, and sustain life — not just please the palate. So, I took another leap into the unknown. I left the security and recognition of fine dining to study Plant-Based Nutrition at Cornell, diving deep into the science of inflammation, longevity, and cellular health.
That risk transformed my life — not only professionally but personally. I rebuilt my own health, rebalanced my energy, and redefined success. It was the seed that grew into BuenoSeeds Nutrition, my mission-driven practice that helps women reverse inflammation, restore confidence, and reconnect with their vitality through the art and science of anti-inflammatory living.
That decision taught me that true success isn’t about building empires — it’s about building wholeness. And when we nourish from that place, everything else flourishes.
Ana , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the founder and CEO of BuenoSeeds Nutrition, where I help women over 35 transform their health, body, and mindset through anti-inflammatory nutrition and regenerative eating habits.
My background is quite unique — I’m a holistic nutritionist with the precision of a fine-dining chef. I worked as Executive Chef at El Cielo Miami, where I learned that the details that make food extraordinary are the same that make nutrition transformative.
My signature methodology is structured into three 28-day protocols — Detoxification, Cellular Nutrition, and Integration — designed to reset the body, rewire habits, and regenerate vitality. It’s not just about weight loss; it’s about longevity, clarity, and confidence.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just prescribe diets. I mentor women to fall in love with self-care, to understand food as a tool of empowerment, and to align their biology with the vibrant life they desire.
I’m most proud of seeing my clients evolve from tired, overwhelmed professionals into radiant, confident women who finally feel at home in their bodies. That transformation — physical, emotional, and mental — is what drives every step of my work.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Before I ever became a nutritionist, I was my own first client. Years in professional kitchens taught me discipline, precision, and control — but not balance. My body was inflamed, my energy low, and my mind constantly chasing perfection. At some point, I realized that what I was mastering in the kitchen wasn’t translating into how I nourished myself.
When I decided to truly transform my eating habits, everything changed. I lost 20 pounds, my skin cleared, my mind became sharper, and my entire perspective shifted. I learned that food isn’t just fuel or flavor — it’s communication with your body. And that communication only flows when we stop treating food as an pure fuel or pleasure and start seeing it as a partner in our healing.
I had to unlearn that success meant control and perfection. In truth, those patterns kept me disconnected from my body’s wisdom. Healing, I discovered, isn’t about rigidity — it’s about rhythm, nourishment, and compassion. That realization became the foundation of my work.
Today, I teach my clients what I lived: that when you release guilt, embrace intuition, and balance science with soul, your body responds with vitality, beauty, and peace. Transformation begins when we stop trying to perfect ourselves — and start listening to ourselves.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
During the early stages of building my nutrition practice, I faced moments of deep doubt. I had left a prestigious culinary career to teach a concept that few understood at the time — that inflammation is the silent root of fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, and premature aging.
I remember hosting my first small workshop. Only three women showed up. But I gave those three everything — the science, the inspiration, the tools to transform their bodies. Months later, they returned glowing, energized, and grateful. That moment reignited my conviction: true impact begins with one person at a time.
Resilience, to me, is not about never falling — it’s about staying connected to purpose when no one else sees it yet.
Today, those principles have evolved into an international mentorship that helps women restore their health and confidence. Every client’s transformation is a reminder that resilience feeds results — and that healing always begins with belief.
