Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amy Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amy, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
Going back in time is something I used to think about quite often when it came to starting my creative career. It is one of those tricky questions because I know I got to where I am now because of what I have been through. I am just too curious to not think about having a conversation with my 7 year younger past self. Food blogging back them was purely a hobby I completely enjoyed sharing with others. I would get the occasional nice comment about how someone made my recipe for their family and they loved it. Reading those would be nice to think about how a family across the country was eating something I had created.
However, if I had started years ago in my business, I now realize just how many more families and individuals I could have made an impact on that much sooner. Something no one really tells you is when they make their recipe and truly like it, they will make it over again. That is how food traditions start. Food traditions are some of my most memories growing up in my family.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I don’t think I’m the only person who has shifted from where they thought they would be at this stage in their life or career! I started off as a simple food blogger. These days you can find me sharing some of the best tips and tricks to help others find their kitchen convinced! Making dinner for you or your family shouldn’t always be a chore (even though most of the time it does feel that way). I also am not going to be one of those people who tell you that every time your in the kitchen it’s going to be a blast! There’s balance in all things, right!
Lately I find myself cheering on my followers and helping them try new things when it comes to how they prepare their food, find some of the best kitchen and home gadgets and I also freelance as a social media mentor.
All of these have evolved over the years simply because my audience has questions and problems and reached out to me for help!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This recently has become one of my all time favorite topics! Social media can be truly fickle and hard to maneuver. I do love consuming Tik Toks like like the next person, but Instagram will always have my heart.
I’ve used the platform for my business since 2013 and it’s been a long road. Trying to gain followers, increase engagement and keep up with the every changing features has been tiresome at times. It wasn’t until recently that something clicked with me and it was then that I gained 70,000 followers organically in an 8 week period.
For about 4 years I felt like I had plateaued between 22k-27k followers. It would budge a little, I’d loose some, then gain a few back. Luckliy my engagement was pretty stellar because I worked hard on curating some pretty fantastic followers. But I felt stuck and thought about just giving up.
I had thought I was doing everything “right” and knew a lot about how to use the platform, but saw no growth. That was until this last spring I decided to just have fun. Post whatever and whenever I wanted. I really dug into Reels and just shared what I was feeling would be fun to watch.
Two viral videos brought in thousands of followers a day and I was blown away that it was even happening to me!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. It’s actually my followers on IG. They have taught me so much about what people actually want to see in the kitchen and on their social media. Moms like me truly do want real life, to feel validated and that every single dinner you serve your family doesn’t have to be gourmet or picture worthy.
These women (and some men) want to be seen and that is something I can do. I love interacting with them through DM’s, emails and messages. I have some of the best followers around!
