We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amy Tavalozzi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe you have to work hard for what you want. I have had such a strong entrepreneurial spirit since I can remember and have a strong drive to achieve my goals. Once I set my mind to something I will work diligently and consistently toward my goals. My best advice for someone trying to reach their goals is to first, KEEP A JOURNAL. Track it! Look at it everyday and make adjustments as needed. This is how we get better. Sometimes its hard to see where your going if you can’t see the mini- accomplishments as you go.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a dental hygienist by trade and still love to work in the dental field to help my patients. I took an interest in fitness and nutrition early in college. The correlation with dental health and nutrition stood out to me immediately when I was in dental hygiene school. I started teaching kickboxing at a local gym in College and have always had a passion for movement and dance. After college I was introduced to jazzercise where I completely fell in love with it. I immediately became an instructor and moved my body all the time, but my nutrition was not on point. I quickly learned how to fuel my body to get the most out of my workouts and optimum results. Since then it has been a mission of mine to teach others how to feel there best through movement and nutrition. I love inspiring healthy living.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My mission is to share authentically my journey and if this reasonates with others, then that’s my goal. If I can help someone else achieve wellness and feel energized from day to day then my job is done. Social media is tough since it’s constantly changing, but it’s also an avenue to reach many many people near and far. I love connecting to like—minded women in my industry and making lasting friendships.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I think when I became a mom this changed my world. It really put things into perspective and opened my eyes to how I wanted more time away from the dental operatory and more time WITH my daughter while she was young. As a fitness instructor and nutritionist I love sharing healthy ideas with my daughter and making it fun for her. It really made my drive even harder to create and work in the business I love. Sharing this gift everyday fills my cup and allows me have more time with my daughter.
