Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Steinberg.
Hi Amy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my artistic journey inspired by Hawaii’s landscapes and the detailed beauty of flowers. My art is deeply personal, blending natural scenes with the stories of my life. I’ve been painting since 2002, using my canvas to navigate and express my inner world. Each piece is a mix of personal mythologies and real-life inspirations, inviting viewers to connect their own experiences with mine. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. The struggles are a combination of self doubt and technical skills to render my vision. I was much less critical when I first started but as the ability to compare myself with other artists because of the proliferation of social media it’s become harder to still that inner voice.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in abstract floral art, creating vivid, emotionally resonant pieces that blend the beauty of natural landscapes with personal and mythological themes. My work is known for its vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. What sets me apart is how I infuse each piece with personal stories and a deep love for mythology, inviting viewers to find connections within their own lives. I’m most proud of how my art fosters emotional resonance and dialogue.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
The Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell is particularly inspiring. There is also a book called Wonder by Beatrice Blue that I am currently in love with.
