We recently connected with Amy Lohr and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
A few years ago, my hometown (Austin) experienced an unprecedented winter storm that kept all of us bundled up at home for close to a week. I was part way through the first draft of my book, “Like the Sun at Midday”, and was facing the worst case of writers block I’d ever encountered.
I was so frustrated. I thought, “There’s nothing else to do–no distractions–this is the time when I should be leaping ahead in progress.” I tried so hard to force words onto the page, but I had nothing. I finally surrendered to the creative crickets and let myself veg out in front of a movie on the couch. Then, close to midnight that evening, inspiration struck hard.
I leaped up to my desk and started typing on an open page. The words were simply moving through me. My hands could barely keep up. After about 15 minutes, I looked up and read through what I wrote. To this day, it’s one of my favorite creations.
This experience awakened me to the mystical nature of creativity.
Creativity is more than talent or technique—it’s communion. It’s the moment when you say yes to what wants to move through you.
Your work is a bridge between the seen and unseen. Inspiration can’t be forced; it’s something you receive. And when you do, it becomes a gift for others too.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m the author of “Like the Sun at Midday” and a Creative Director for visionaries, healers, and artists.
For the past decade, I’ve helped people bring their gifts to life in the world through brand launches, messaging strategy, and visual storytelling.
These days, my work is all about empowering creatives with the tools — both practical and mystical — to walk their path with clarity, confidence, and depth. I do that through consulting sessions, classes, and intimate events designed to reconnect you to your inner knowing and creative fire.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
As a multi-hyphenate creative, my business always has and always will have multiple streams of revenue. I like to think of my business as a living thing. It naturally changes shape over time. I’m grateful for the ability to close and open streams of income at will.
When an offering begins to feel stagnant, I listen. When my curiosity leads me to learn a new skill or go down some random rabbit hole, I listen.
The creative path is non-linear. While that can be confusing and frustrating at times, that is also the grand adventure.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
While not highly apparent on the surface, a cause close to my heart is protecting the earth. I’ve found rich wisdom and deep peace through connecting with this beautiful planet. It pains me to see the degradation that has taken place in recent history. I believe the root cause of this is that we are living out of alignment with nature’s laws.
Though not direct whatsoever, I sense that my work helping visionaries step into their full expression has a round-about way of healing the earth. I believe that if we each do what we are soulfully called to do, we will collectively move closer to harmony with nature. We are a part of nature, after all, and if we step into harmony with ourselves and each other, harmony with nature is sure to follow.
That’s the big vision and hope. But to move the needle in the meantime, I share my time and talents with local causes I care about.
