We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amy Ledgister. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amy below.
Amy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe there is a certain x factor that one must have in order to be successful in any avenue they desire. What I mean by X-factor is do you have the grit, determination, and perseverance to see any dream through? Whether in business or education you must possess those qualities because as they say to much is given much is required.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am the founder and CEO of 3D Lash & Brow Salon and Academy the #1 private beauty college and permanent makeup training center in Dallas, Tx. I took a leap of faith in 2015 to leave the corporate world and become a beauty entrepreneur. The academy started with only 3 students to now over 300. Our school was created for the working adult which is why we have daytime, nighttime, Saturdays and online programs. As a former single mom trying to create a better life for my family, I knew there was a need for a flexible and affordable school. I am most proud when I see my students graduate and start their new careers.
With the school becoming such a success, I now focus on mentorship programs for women who want more guidance on taking the next step to living their best life.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Covid-19 changed many businesses but especially those that required in person contact such as being an esthetician or any type of beauty industry. With having a school we quickly had to learn to navigate the ropes of Online Learning and how to make it work with our industry. I am so glad to say that it has worked and many students who have chosen the 100% online programs have successfully become licensed artist and gained employment or started their careers.
As a school we had to invest in the best cameras, software, and programs to give our students the learning experience they needed.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Authenticity is the best way to grow your clientele. If you are a beautician let the client see the person behind the chair and why you are so passionate about your services and educate the clients on the importance. I take that same approach with my students and mentees let them see that your authentic and the rest will fall in place.
