We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amy Kelly. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amy below.
Amy , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was the transformation of a family-owned beach house in Blue Mountain Beach on 30A, Florida. The home had been in the family for decades, but over time it had become tired, outdated, and no longer functional for the needs of a growing, modern family. While my clients were deeply connected to the space, it no longer reflected their lifestyle or the elevated experience they envisioned for their future gatherings.
What made this project so special wasn’t just the design—it was the opportunity to breathe new life into something so personal. We thoughtfully reimagined the floor plans and blended durability with aesthetic warmth, creating a vacation home that’s not only beautiful but built to evolve with the family for years to come. It was a full-circle moment for me, and a reminder of how powerful thoughtful interiors can be in shaping the way people live, connect, and make lasting memories.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Amy Kelly, founder and designer behind Après Sun Interiors—a full-service design studio based along Florida’s iconic 30A. My passion for interior design began at a young age and ultimately led me to formal training at Florida State University, followed by a master’s program in Florence, Italy, where I deepened my appreciation for timeless design rooted in history, texture, and light.
At Après Sun, we specialize in blending lifestyle and home with sun-inspired spaces that feel both elevated and lived-in. Our services range from full home renovations and new construction design to custom furnishings and styling. Many of our clients are building or reimagining second homes or investment properties, and we’re often brought in to deliver designs that are not only beautiful but also highly functional and rental-ready—without ever feeling impersonal. That balance of beauty and purpose is at the heart of everything we do.
What sets us apart is our unique blend of design expertise and business acumen. With a background in real estate investments, I understand how design choices impact not just the way a space feels—but how it performs. We create interiors that are personal, polished, and profitable. And we work hand-in-hand with architects, builders, and real estate professionals to ensure every decision aligns with the bigger picture.
What I’m most proud of is the trust our clients place in us—entrusting us with their homes, their vision, and their investment. Après Sun is rooted in the belief that great design should feel like a breath of fresh air: natural, warm, and effortlessly welcoming. That’s what we call Sun Touched Living.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
At the heart of my creative journey is a belief that our environments deeply influence how we feel, function, and connect—with ourselves and with others. My mission is to design spaces that support well-being, encourage ease, and elevate the everyday. Whether it’s natural light streaming into a breakfast nook or the calming rhythm of a well-planned layout, every design decision we make at Après Sun is grounded in the idea that beautiful spaces should also nurture peace of mind.
I’ve seen firsthand how intentional interiors can improve daily routines, reduce stress, and create a sense of calm in a world that often feels chaotic. Especially in second homes or investments, where clients come to recharge, I’m passionate about crafting environments that feel restorative and joy-filled—spaces that invite you to slow down, breathe deeper, and live more presently.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After returning from Italy, I began my design career in South Florida—a place I truly loved and saw myself building a future in. But life had other plans. Unforeseen family circumstances called me back home, and what I thought would be a short pause turned into a much longer chapter. My father’s passing took over a decade to fully navigate, and during that time, returning to South Florida never aligned.
At the time, it felt like a detour. But looking back, I see it as a defining pivot that ultimately led me to where I am today. Being rooted in my hometown allowed me to reconnect with my community, build Après Sun Interiors, and grow a business that reflects not just my design philosophy—but also my family values and sense of place. I’m incredibly grateful for that redirection and for the strong foundation it gave me.
