We were lucky to catch up with Amy Dial recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents raised me and my four siblings to submit our lives to the Lord and instilled in us the value of a strong prayer life. The lived the example of servanthood both publicly and privately at home. They both taught us kids to take a stand for what is right and to have bold courage and faith to help another, regardless of the personal cost. I am forever grateful that I was blessed by God to get to be their daughter for 48 years, before the Lord called them home within months of each other. The fabric of integrity that they sewed into my life through example and direct instruction is something that I am honored to be able to pass along to my children and my brand new grandchild. To be a part of a legacy of family dedicated to the service to the Lord is a powerful thing and I am forever grateful for it.
Amy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been called into the health and fitness arena by the Lord and He has gifted me a ministry called Fit 4 The Kingdom Outreach. Through this, I am able to coach and train women to better health while also sharing the love of the Gospel of Christ. Not only am I a part of a movement of restoring health and wellness, I am also a part of restoring the hearts of those hurting and in need of a real experience with Christ. I foster relationship with the Father, NOT religion. My journey on this road began when the Lord called me into a training with Revelation Wellness in 2022. It was here that I learned how to take my love for fitness and coaching and dedicate it to the Lord for HIS service, just as my parents had done in their lives as they used their small business in the grocery industry to be a ministry to other in our small Texas town that could not afford to feed their families. It was there example of how they lived and submitted to the Lord that I learned the He can and will use anything to show others how He loves them if we will just turn it over to Him.
In 2005, I had found myself traveling a road that led me far from the Lord and the teachings my parents had instilled in me. As a result, I was facing a crisis pregnancy, This was one of those times that NO amount of religion would help solve, only relationship with Jesus could help. The problem was that I felt I had gone too far away from His will and believed the lie that I had no worth so I hid from Him. The power of prayer and the values instilled in me from my parents won out in the end and the Lord saved me from what would of been the worst choice of my life. Instead of ending the life of my child growing inside of me, I was able to choose life in that moment. What the enemy of my soul designed for my destruction, the Lord used as a foundation for my calling to others. As a result of my experience, I am now able to minister in a specific way through my health and fitness career to those who may find themselves in the same situation I was once in.
God has continued to ordain my steps and further me along this road of redemption as the years roll along. I have now earned my credentials as a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM and have received various specialty certifications such as Corrective Exercise Specialist and DNA Coaching Specialist. With each new thing the He calls me to, I gain more momentum and expand my tools that I have to offer potential clients, but the most important thing He does is to keep connecting me to the women who need to hear the GOOD news of the love of Jesus and have someone who is willing to link arms with them and encourage them as they walk along.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I can share many, but the most pivotal moment in my life journey came at the darkest moment of my life, laying on an abortionist table inside of a Planned Parenthood in Houston, TX. I had resolved that my only course of action was to abort my child and then return home to hang myself. In a moment of silently thinking, “No one cares, Jesus help”, HE showed up and said “Remember who you are.” I was not aware in this moment, but the life of prayer I had been taught kicked in, without even an awareness that I was calling out to Him. It was as if there was a ‘muscle memory’ so to speak in my mind that knew to call out to the Father when nothing else was working. After I came to myself, I got the power to get up and get out. On the way out, I saw the ones who did not have the same success story I had. This moment of facing what I had just been saved from completely humbled me and caused me to want to help another woman from ever finding herself in that position that I did. It would be a number of years following that experience before I would be healed and able to help others, The road to healing has been long and at times very difficult, but that desire to help in anyway possible to keep a woman from walking that road has never left me; it only gets stronger as I go along.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I really struggled to unlearn all the things I had gotten WRONG about God and the love of Jesus. I was raised in a church from my earliest memories, but I always seemed to struggle to connect with God the way I watched my parents do. I did not understand that I had been relying on tradition and religion to change me and save me, but it was RELATIONSHIP that I needed. This has been a lifelong concept to absorb as I have had to unlearn RELIGION and accept RELATIONSHIP. I am finding that it gets easier in time and God gives me grace along the way. He continues to resound His love for me and invites me to FREELY accept it, once I was able to do this He began calling me to teach others the same thing.
