Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amos Knoll. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amos, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
You want the public to associate the logo with what you do, I’m an author, and I write books.
It’s important to keep it simple and create a logo that gets everyone’s attention. You can see it on my website www.knollpublishing.com I used my last name KNOLL Publishing Inc. There is a tree on a KNOLL. Under the tree is a silhouette of a boy girl and dog sitting underneath a tree reading a book as a dog is looking on. On one of the branches above the boy hangs a string with a quarter moon that gives light. The moon is orange/yellow glowing and the leaves are orange. The tree is also a silhouette. It gets everyone’s attention.
One of my books is being made into a movie. Hollywood is working on the screenplay “The Chubby Conqueror” Our logo for the movie will be animated the boy will get up take the moon off the branch and walk over to the girl who is on the right side while the dog is following him waging his tail. He hangs up the moon next to the girl and they wind up sitting next to each other.
It looks complicated, but it’s not. You know the expression “a picture is like southand words”

Amos, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was a builder/developer for almost 40 years in Michigan. I always made up stories for my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One day my daughter asked me to give Addison my grandson a bath, he was about seven years old. Papa, please tell me a story, he said. I looked around and saw a picture of a tulip on the wall. I just made it up as we moved along. When I was finished Addison said “Papa why don’t you write it down so other kids can enjoy it too?
How time flies, like a blink of an eye. Addison graduated from FAU in 2022 and is building a successful courier. The name of the book is “The Flower That Could Not Talk” I have over 70 books and more coming online. Many are completed, but some need editing, proofreading, illustration, and layout. All my books have messages in them for parents and their children. Many stories come from real-life experience and some imagination creates the story. I also try and add some illustrations so kids and parents can relate to them.
For me, life is one big adventure with no end in sight. I have seen it and done it. I made a lot of money and lost a lot. I have a Hebrew, German,,Brooklyn Jewish accent. see my podcast. YOUTUBE Amos Knoll

I went to the Brooklyn Community College and then about six years to Queen’s College at night. I married my high school Sweetheart Fay in 1962 we were both 18 years old. We have been married for 62 wonderful years. We have two daughters and four grandchildren one passed away, Stephanie when she was 23 years old. and three great-grandchildren.
I worked on Wall Street for major companies running the back operation, I was in international business, oil gas, and financing, representing a major lender who was on the NY stock exchange, etc. I was a builder and developer for almost 40 years in Michigan.
I had my witch hunt like Trump. The lesson I got was there is a big difference between justice and the law. My resume is very long. I started to write my life story as I was reading it, I told my wife it sounded like an Indiana Jones story.
When you live the part, you don’t realize it. I was shot, drowned, knife in my back, rolled down a mountain in my car, and had a head-on car collision. Had a car go over me, lost a kidney when I was 11 years old, in the same I was raped by a teacher and was kidnaped I had a gun put to my head they pulled the trigger gun did not go off. when I pushed it away it went off, etc. I dealt with celebrities, heads of state from Africa and other countries, etc. I should have died many times over, but somehow, I always landed on my feet stronger than before. I was told I was a very unlucky person, personally, I think I’m the luckiest person in the world!
I love to write books for children of all ages. It is important to teach our kids and remind their parents that there is only one human race. It is important to teach our kids morality before they become jaded and cynical about life. Our kids are our future leaders.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In life, there are no guarantees. Life is one learning curve.
We all make mistakes, that’s normal, but the difference between success and failure is your commitment to whatever goal you have. You might want the fame or the power you get with money or just to show off.
My goal was to do what I liked and as an intrapreneur make money because I always believed in what I was doing. Money was not the drive, but in the real world, it was a means to an end. There is an expression, “Success has many fathers, failure has but one” If you make it everyone will praise you and will want to take some credit for it. If you fail it’s all yours!
I’m 81 years old in all honesty I don’t feel it. I know I can’t run a 26-mile marathon or play basketball with an 18-year-old kid, but my mind is still working fine. I’m still out to conquer the world, It’s not the money that comes with success, it’s the inner drive that pushes you to success. If you believe in something, go for it. If you are honest and have integrity people will feel it. Yes, you will get knocked down once twice, or many times, take a big breath learn from it, and do better next time. Meet people and build trust with them. You will be surprised that people will remember you.
Sometimes you have to go back two steps to go forward one.
As a developer in Michigan, I was building a few projects at the same time, my lender was bought out by a foreign bank and they cut my money off. I had many litigations, spending most of my time in court I was 100% innocent but I had to fight. It took a few years. I did not let this discourage me. I had enough connections and started other companies. Now to put salt on the wound one of my partners sold some of the property and left Michigan. So much for friendship.
I always found ways to make money, even when I had to work for someone while I was pursuing my thing. The good news was that most people knew that I was honest and stood by me. Things happen that are not under your control, don’t let them discourage you.
Right now I’m putting a five-million-dollar syndication together for the movie and printing many of my books, I’m working with some very good prospects.
In other words at times when things go wrong adjust your life and stay focused. There are always opportunities coming up and you be surprised, at what you can accomplish.
I’m not doing it for fame and fortune, I like to help our new generation by getting important messages to them. They won’t find it on TikTok, Facebook, etc. including all the fake news.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Exposure, meet people talk to them, and let them know you personally. If they like you they will recommend you to other people. join some trade organizations or rotary clubs you will meet people in your line and many went through the same problems you have. They might even partner with you. Always sell yourself, but don’t be a showoff, be honest and humble be yourself, and you be surprised by the reception you will receive. Most business people especially the elderly like to help younger business people. But you have to be careful because there are unfortunately a lot of scams out there.
In addition, today the Internet is an integral part of marketing learn how to use it or find friends to help you.
After the October 7 attack by Hamas in Israel. I decided to donate to Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem 40% of all my book sales until the end of the year. I talk to the president of Herzog Hospital Dr. Cane and I expect to give them one million dollars by the end of 2024. I can only do it because I’m the author and publisher I don’t have a bunch of middle man. I know I’m not making the money I should be, but it will help market my books, and more importantly it will help the hospital. In other words, try to find something to tie your project to like a Nonprofit organization. In my case, I’m the founder and chairman of the Children Obesity Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. www.obesitystops.org , if you like you may donate.
I’m also in contact with former President Donald Trump trying to set up a book signing event in Mar-A-Lago for American wounded soldiers and Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel our ally and friend.
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, and don’t let the word “NO” discourage you.
The way I look at it is a NO is one less person to worry about! You be surprised how many people are looking to invest their money, but the key is the same that you have, finding an honest person! They are out there waiting for you!
!Whenever you feel that things are overwhelming you think of this poem! and remember.
“you are the master of your fate: You are the captain of your soul. INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
William Ernest Henley
Good Luck have faith in yourself!
