We recently connected with Ammo O’Day and have shared our conversation below.
Ammo, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best piece of advice I’ve given to a client is that they’re in charge of their healing process. No one can or should tell you how to heal or how long your journey will take. I tell them that I can guide them in a direction and give them advice but I don’t know what their souls path is and they need to follow their intuition.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I go by Ammo O’Day and I’m an esoteric life coach and personal trainer. I utilize fitness, nutrition, kundalini yoga, tarot, astrology, energy work and magical practices to help get my clients to their goals. My aim is to assist them in finding and accomplishing their true purpose in life, whether that’s getting in shape, healing from trauma, finding a new career or relationship issues. I prescribe everything from diet and exercise, to meditation and grounding practices, to candle magic and other types of spells to achieve their desired result. My style of working comes from being a trainer in a chain gym and not being able to help them in the way I thought would work best. I also felt the same way when I worked in a witchcraft store. I believe the body is your magic vessel. You must care for it to get the most out of your magical practices and vice versa.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in my 30 plus years of helping people live better lives is that they have to want to change. I spent a lot of time feeling like it was my fault that some of my clients never reach their goals but I cannot force someone to fix their lives. They have to want it bad enough to make uncomfortable shifts.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
At some point in my 40’s I realized I wasn’t putting the energy into my business the way I wanted to because I was no longer happy in nyc. I moved to Los Angeles in 2018 at 46 and I haven’t been happier. There’s definitely been setbacks, like the pandemic, etc but I definitely made the right decision. People thought I was crazy to move at such a late point in life but I love it here and haven’t looked back.
