We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ammari Bourgeois a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ammari, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
Oh, this story is so Noon + Moon—equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. My first paid floral gig happened because of my best friend’s boobs.
After her cosmetic surgery, she wanted to thank her incredible surgeon, Dr. Deniz Sarhaddi, with something more personal than a generic gift card. I had a coffee mug that said “You’re the tits!” on it. I made a small arrangement with some purple orchids in the mug —because if you can’t laugh post-op, when can you?
Dr. Sarhaddi adored it. To my surprise she posted-it-on-her-Instagram. Then she hired me to design arrangements for her entire office. Suddenly, my silly little mug bouquet had turned into my first official floral client—and a lasting creative partnership.
I was just trying to make my friend smile. That first “yes” was electric—proof that my weird, joyful approach to florals could actually work. And Dr. Sarhaddi? Still one of my favorite clients, because she trusted the vision.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
“Hey, Flower Fam!” 🌸✨ My name is Ammari, the cosmic creative behind Noon + Moon Bloom Co.—where flowers don’t just sit pretty, they make a scene.
How It All Bloomed:
The name comes from my childhood nickname, “High Noon” (yes, like the cowboy showdowns—my mom swore I had that kind of energy). My twin sister? “Midnight”—cool, calm, and collected. That duality lives in my designs: bold, sun-soaked vibrance meets moody, celestial romance.
I’ve always been extra—in my fashion, my home decor, and now, my florals. When I started embellishing flowers with glitter, jewels, and cosmic paint, it wasn’t just a trend—it was a whole vibe. Stars are nature’s glitter, after all.
What I Do:
Signature Cosmic Anthuriums: Each petal is hand-painted, iridescent or chromed, and jewel-sprinkled—like a tiny universe in every bloom.
Rare & Radical Florals: Think tropical oddballs, color-shifted exotics, and zero filler (because why hide behind leaves when your flowers can shriek with joy?).
Florals That Feel Like You: Whether it’s a “peacock in a bouquet” moment or a soft-freaking-ethereal cloud of petals, I design for the bold, the romantic, and the unapologetically quirky.
Why I’m Different:
I don’t just arrange flowers—I curate experiences. My clients don’t want “nice.” They want “Oh my god, is that a jewel-encrusted orchid?!” They want florals that match their big feelings—whether it’s a wedding, a brand launch, or a “I survived my surgery, let’s celebrate” gift.
What I’m Proudest Of:
Turning my love for all things sparkly, strange, and stellar into a business that feels like me. Every bouquet is a little rebellious, a little romantic, and 100% Noon + Moon.
If you want flowers that dazzle, drench, and demand attention—you’re in the right galaxy. 🌙🚀
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Flowers are my medium, but connection has always been my passion. As a florist, I get to be apart of people’s most vulnerable, joyful, and human moments.
A bouquet isn’t just petals in a vase. It’s:
The “Oh my god, you remembered!” grin when someone receives surprise “just because” blooms.
The quiet squeeze of a hand as I deliver sympathy arrangements, where words fail but color speaks.
The “I feel so seen” gasp when a bride realizes her bouquet matches her tattoo or favorite childhood fairytale.
In my old 9-to-5, I never got to be the deliverer of that kind of lightning-strike joy. Now? I’m the stealthy fairy of “someone thought of you today.” And that’s the rarest currency there is.
The real reward? Knowing my work isn’t just pretty—it’s proof that people care about each other. And that’s the kind of thing that makes you stop mid-stem-strip and think: “Wow! This is my job, I get to do this?!”
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Honestly? My greatest teacher wasn’t a book—it was a parade of bad bosses.
I spent 12 years in corporate HR, watching companies prioritize profits over people until morale (and quality) crumbled. But in that chaos, I found my purpose: being the person who actually cared. I became the unofficial “office cheerleader”—remembering kids’ soccer games, advocating for mental health days, and listening when the weight of the workday got too heavy.
When I launched Noon + Moon, I took the structure of corporate (handbooks, systems, clear boundaries) but left behind the soul-sucking parts. Now, my business runs on two rules:
Communication is everything—with clients, vendors, and anyone who touches my flowers.
People > profit—always.
The result? A floral biz that feels like a warm hug with a side of professionalism. Because thriving isn’t just about revenue—it’s about remembering the humans behind every transaction.
