We were lucky to catch up with Amit Amram recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Amit thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
Like all full-time musicians, it always starts with a big passion and love.
The challenging part is transitioning this passion into an actual business that can support you/ your family.
Ideas are overrated, execution is everything!
Whatever your idea is, you have to think about your plan to make it a reality.
Don’t ever think your idea can grow because it is just such a great idea,
you have to build it, customize it, shape it, fail, learn, and try again many times, you gotta be stubborn and committed.
I started with identifying the need, as a producer, there are artists and musicians that I can help in their journey,
So that was the baseline of my execution plan.
Once you understand how you can serve and help people with your skills and passion, you just gotta figure out how to reach those people and have a genuine plan that fits their needs/ goals.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello!
My name is Amit, I’m a music producer, engineer, songwriter, and mixer.
I’m currently based in the Seattle, WA area.
I love working with artists to enhance ideas, melodies, and concepts into tangible musical products that connect and inspire people.
I started as a teenage metal guitar player, slowly found my way into the production world, and fell in love with the process.
There is something so real in translating reality into art, using sounds and instruments.
I currently work with singer-songwriters, artists, and musicians to find their sound, understand their authentic, individual message and perspective, and turn it into a product that lets them express their true point of view, or paint a picture that other people can relate to.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to create meaningful products, that inspire as many people as I can reach.
We all need to express ourselves fully, and there is no better way (in my opinion) than creating art.
Music is the language I chose to fulfill that need.
and I use my skills and knowledge to help others achieve the same goal.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Absolutely,
In the creative world, a project is never done.
When dealing with art, who’s to say when a project is done?
You can’t rely on other people’s opinions, because art is 100% subjective.
Some people will love it and call it a masterpiece, while others might hate it.
but that’s ok because we all have different tastes, beliefs, and perspectives.
You also can’t really rely on your own opinion,
You might love what you did today but hate it the following week.
There’s a vicious cycle in creating art, you start with loving it, then comes imposter syndrome, and you start questioning it, then questioning yourself, and eventually that can lead to shelving the entire project.
There’s some amount of perfectionism among most creative people that needs to be tamed down in order to move forward.
Your art is valuable, but not precious, move on!
