We recently connected with Amisstika Goldwire and have shared our conversation below.
Amisstika, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
Preparing our youth for a fulfilling life and career in addition to strategically molding their minds is a joy for me, though the educational system isn’t set up to allow many of these babies to flourish. To be frank, babies that look like me. Now, please understand I do not intend to step on or crush any toes. Though if it’s not said, who will make a ruckus for the implementing of a prosperous future for all youth. Years ago when prayer, discipline, and the primary educational basics were snatched out of the school system, the concept of organic education went down the drain.
Given the opportunity to implement change in the educational system, would call for action to minimize the stronghold of the political dictatorship. Indeed, I acknowledge that using the term dictatorship could possibly be testy, though it is greatly befitting. Politicians are big on image, and minimal change unfortunately. Having worked within the school system, I’ve seen first hand, many youth being displaced and greatly affected by egotistical narcissistic political leaders. These leaders are driven by the idea of the “hooraw” that comes with being in the political limelight. Minimizing politics in the educational system will allow for non traditional learners to thrive, towards a fulfilling career and life.
In addition, to non-traditional learners thriving, non-conventional teachers will be unconfined in their teaching styles and touch lives that many see as pointless. With the minimization of politics the concept of discipline would be implemented, bringing a greater force of structure therefore enforced without pushback. Having a mindset and positive concept of discipline, truth be told happens to be a characteristic that many youth yearn for. Now please understand in order for discipline to be receptive, it has to come from a place of geneunity, compassion and love. A key component of discipline that must be addressed is dress code. The idea of dress code has melted away, causing campuses to be a fashion disaster that magnifies the hormonal pool.
In understanding this mindset of discipline the non conventional educator will be able to instill core educational tidbits that will build up, and not tear down a child; though that is only because a high level of discipline has been instilled. Implementing this process there needs to be a team in place that hosts mandatory backed incentive driven trainings. These trainings will be geared around building rapports, establishing a healthy discipline community and reintroducing, if not introducing, the true foundation of education. Once all is said and rolling there needs to be a level of accountability on the behalf of every responsible party. In addition to accountability, there needs to be a sense of urgency in acknowledging the bridge between education and discipline.
When the gap between education and discipline is cinched, then the foundation of the educational system can move in a swift locomotive manner leaving no child behind. So, yet again I state minimizing politics opens up the educational doors for seeds to be planted, watered and harvested for youth of all racial backgrounds.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Determination has always been a key to the formula of me. Hard working, creative, loving and caring depicts the woman in which I am. Empowering young minds comes at an ease. Lending a hand comes second nature. An educator that wears multiple hats extracting bottled up potential. At this point you should have realized I am Amisstika Goldwire. My name alone speaks volumes of who I am. I’m built different! Over the past 10 plus years I have worked in various entities with youth. From the church house to the schoolhouse, I have played a major role in their lives. Currently, I am an Intensive Reading Teacher better yet ,an educator. Within my job title alone, one may acknowledge that I work with youth that need an extra push and extra sense of love. Beyond the push, I instill knowledge that can be carried to the next level of life. I encourage and motivate them to keep going. As an educator, I believe in rewarding, as incentives are a beneficial key towards greatness.
Building relationships comes naturally. Having rapports with past and present students along with my colleagues is enriching. Wearing multiple hats as an educator tends to be a lot, though it’s worth it. As a middle school teacher, you’re faced with a pool of emotions. Some based off of personal endeavors, beyond a child’s control. Others surrounded by the idea of being in the inner crowd, and all the while the mass just attempted to fit in and live. Giving them a place of outlet, a shoulder to cry on, a safe place, is major to me, as I realize that life can be a termagant.
Currently, I am a co-mentor of H.E.R. (Humble Educated Resilient) which is a mentoring program for young ladies at Carver Middle School in Delray Beach,Florida. Within this group myself and my colleague / sister friend, empower young ladies. We also teach them ways to deal with conflict in a manner that is conducive to moving forward and how to handle things that can occur in life; always be positive. We implant seeds which will take root and bring forth a prosperous future. Prior to H.E.R. mentoring, empowering the minds of women and girls has always been important to me.
In 2021, I deemed it necessary to establish Chy Let’s Motivate. Chy Let’s Motivate isn’t currently active at the moment, though in 2021, the group was implemented to bring women together. Within the short time frame, Lady Momentum, which is my pin name, hosted meetings where women were empowered to stick together and encouraged self-defense. The ladies shared views on various topics and even their business ventures. In keeping with the mindset of self-defense, Lady Momentum arranged for self-defense classes. Being able to protect oneself is important for women. After proper gun handling, the ladies and myself took the guns to the range and let off a few rounds. Learning proper gun safety is important though nothing like hands on self defense. The defense techniques were catered to implement preventive measures of sexual offenses and just flat out self defense.
Many of my endeavors involved my supportive family. My support line extends to the Lord, my teenage daughter, my mother, my brother, my aunt and uncle, my godmother and siblings and a host of cousins and selective friends that are close to my heart. Family has always been that motivational push that keeps me going, encouraging me to dive into my creative nature. As I have taken into consideration their thoughts, I authored my first book entitled, G’s Bootcamp for the New Me Healing one page at a time.
Truth be told I never knew I had a book in me. Though we all have a story to tell and various books ready to hit the shelves. G’s Bootcamp for the New Me, can be purchased on Amazon and lulu.com. Along with being an author I am a play writer, poet and greeting card connoisseur. I’m sure the question of what a greeting card connoisseur is comes to mind. Well in my opinion, a person that takes their time in creating greeting cards that leave an impression and you only have to sign. Well that’s my que to step in, Momentum Greetings, is a card line in which I do what I do best, touching lives with words. I’ve been creating Momentum Greeting card inserts for over 10 years. I have blessed many of my family members and friends with my cards. Their reaction was that they were speechless and tears welled up in their eyes.
In my down time being in the company of my family and friends brings joy to me. We paint, play games and watch movies, a vibe I must say. When able to, I cook and bake for my family. My baking has lead to the harvest of Momentum Treats. Momentum Treats is the name I bake under. I bake and sell desserts though my specialty is pound cake. I have so much more to share though time is of the essence. I look forward to sharing more about myself at a later time frame.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When one thinks of a journey, they think of adventure and sightseeing. Well journeys to me, our trials and test that we go through that makes us strong. Every journey I embark on; left me with lessons that prepared me for various unforeseen obstacles. Within the past two years, my journey was full of emotion, they gave me strength to keep pushing to achieve goals I put into place. This strength allowed me to dive deeper into my love of words, baking, cooking, and helping others. Indeed, I have only written one book though with the grace of God more will come. In addition to my book I learnt that my love of words kept me creating, so I write and create my own greeting card, Momentum Greetings. My goal for MG is that all one has to do is sign their name. From time to time I bless my family with these cards and their reactions are heartwarming. As I stated before along my journey, I dove deeper into my love of baking and cooking. With my love of baking, I sell poundcakes. I sell my poundcakes under Momentum Treats. Within my love of words, I didn’t just stop at writing my book and greeting card inserts. I also have written and still write plays. My journey of pain taught me to keep pushing and never give up. It taught me to dig deep into my pain to allow that pain to be my strength to be great, to use my words to help others by mentally comforting them, to allow my cakes to be a level of euphoric comfort for others. All in all helping others is being achieved through all that I do, though my physical presence may not be present.

Have you ever had to pivot?
To pivot in one’s life or career isn’t always easy. For me the pivot to place when the cost-of-living kept rising, and life kept rolling on. As a single mom, I’ve always tried to make sure all needs were met for my daughter and myself. When I made the decision to become an educator, it was a financial move. Though, I realized the need in the education sector was beyond me; so I pushed on and gained more knowledge. Gaining more knowledge, I obtained my Masters in Special Education. The area of Special Education is such a broad area as many students tend to fall into the bracket because of various issues and reasons beyond their control. Indeed, I am still in the education sector, though I tend to pivot from time to time into an entrepreneur as being an educator does not suffice financially.
